My Abarth 124 Spider - updated, now with Finance details
Re: For Sells - my Abarth 124 Spider #Bargain
Never spun on the road. Do I lose?
I found myself briefly facing the island on a roundabout after some LOO in my R26 but it scrubbed off speed and I somewhat awkwardly kept it moving towards my exit.
Had a couple of unexpected sideways events in the 7 (cold tyres seemed to be the main issue), but always gathered it up ok.
Always a first time though, let's hope it all happens with minimal damage to anything but my pride.

Mk1 Escort, not on a roundabout, just a damp corner but I did manage to hit a tree and write the car off.
Re: For Sells - my Abarth 124 Spider #Bargain
Spun two cars. One was my MG Metro Turbo that suffered from some LOO coming off a tight right hander that was downhill a bit on a spirited run late at night. Ended up perfectly on the other side of the road pointing back the way I came. I just started the engine and drove off as if it was planned that way.
Second was an R8 Rover 214 that similarly LOO'd after some provocation (I rode over a drain cover when hammering up the A24 southbound). That drain cover was the straw that broke the camels back as I was chasing an Alfa of some description at the time. The car went one way, but with my inexperience I lifted and counter-steered so it went the other way and off onto the grass verge. Drove it very gingerly for the rest of the day until I got the tracking redone.

Is this confessions of crashing cars with no power?
Re: For Sells - my Abarth 124 Spider #Bargain
I was 17 with no abs, no driver aids, actual linglongs and i thought I could take an icy 90' bend at 50mph whilst looking out of the passenger side window, I "nearly" did
Major however has no excuse
ETA - glad you're ok and we can take the piss

That's annoying. Good you're okay.
I bumped the back of a Corolla when getting my dad's old Merc sideways at walking pace on a patch of ice. Thought I was going to smartly slide it around the corner, but didn't factor in the gearbox kicking down a gear and then throwing all the torques at the poor tyres.

Spun both my Scirocco and Elise on the road. MX5 and Elise multiple times on track. Only crashed by locking up my 205 and hitting a dead end.
Re: For Sells - my Abarth 124 Spider #Bargain
I sent my 405 into a dyke and afterwards the same down an embankment after making a particularly big mess of some LOO.
Even a 110mph sideways entrance to a dual carriageway in a car I hadn’t yet bought.
Crashes suck but these things happen.
Dave!

Only car I've ever crashed was a 1.1 metro
Spun my 1.4 metro into the chicane at donnington.
Ended up stopped 90degrees to the direction of travel on a bend in the e30.
Cheers, Harry
Re: For Sells - my Abarth 124 Spider #Bargain
Quite obviously didn't work in this instance.
People lean more and more on safety devices rather than ability. If in this instance the road was slippy why weren't there a pile of crashed cars?
Re: For Sells - my Abarth 124 Spider #Bargain
So - you don't have traction control on your bike because someone crashed a car that had traction control?
Are you having a stroke?

yes or maybe just winding you up for fun.
Anyway I hope the lease company doesn't go after you too strongly. I had Gap on my first golf but not this time. It's all a gamble.

Re: For Sells - my Abarth 124 Spider #Bargain
I spun an original Ka on mismatched tyres and old suspension on a sweeping left hander on the A7 North of Stow. Managed to correct the first slide thus ramming the wall left side of the car and punch the shape of the lintel in to the C pillar. I was only doing 50, maybe 55 so I am going with diesel on the road.
Glad you are OK and hope the finance isn't to big a pita.
