So that's what they meant by Soul

But this also applies to Tesla and other EVs?IanF wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 11:31 am https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-48723302
Won’t be the last, I imagine.
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

Re: 70mph Motorway speed limits
Not sure tbh. It wouldn't surprise me but the AQ monitoring location will probably originally have been decided on the basis of where you'd logically think it might be bad.NotoriousREV wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2019 11:07 pm Are these just sections that happen to have air monitors and the positioning is fairly arbitrary?
In the case of Wrexham that's going to obvs be on the stretch past Plas Coch as the entire area is fuckarood and has been for years. If you've got traffic queuing back down your slip roads on to the mainline carriageway it shouldn't be a surprise that your AQ will be bolloxed. Speed related emissions my 4rse

Wasn’t it Japan who turned a road into a river and now run the cars through a tunnel. It then improved air quality massively with a few years?
I have a vague memory of hundreds of children planting trees next to it etc.
Surely planting millions and millions of trees around be a good way to remove noise and co2?
Dave!

Re: 70mph Motorway speed limits
Is it more to do with the flow of traffic being better when it’s 50 rather than 70, in congested areas? That’s what “smart” motorways do. It never feels like it’s working, but I guess there’s evidence to back up the ideaunzippy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 2:39 amBut this also applies to Tesla and other EVs?IanF wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 11:31 am https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-48723302

Re: 70mph Motorway speed limits
It works off the theory that everyone who drives at 70 leaves a 2 second gap so you can fit more cars in if you do 50. In reality everyone sits a few metres off each other so reducing the speed means the same flow with just a lower speed.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: 70mph Motorway speed limits
Or do they count how many cars drive past marker every minute or whatever at 70, then change the speed to 50 and measure again for a bit?
Re: 70mph Motorway speed limits
I hope everyone here follows the Bernoulli principle: speed up when the road narrows because you can only fit the same volume flow rate of cars through if you do that:
