I’d say they’re the new Lexus lights- it’s just copying oem and sticking it onto any old rubbish, in this case it’s the Mercedes a45 amg they’re all copying from

Didn't the series 1 Esprit have a non functional rear spoiler? IIRC the engineers discovered that it caused loads of drag with no real down force benefits and asked Chapman if they could remove it. He said no as it looked good (and was probably very, very light) and told them to solve it a different way. They put a small (light) lip spoiler on the back of the roof that detached the airflow and bypassed the spoiler completely.

Harry talked about it when he bought his. It was the Turbo and the built in spoiler caused lift at the front so they added a lip to the roof to make it less effective.

An absolute unit

I see you can now get a Project 8 sans-wing. Calling it the Touring. Looks better.

Looks about a billion times better. I mean it still looks gopping, just much, much less so.

They've put seats in it too which makes sense, what with it being a massive car that people will use on the road for conveying people places.

"Just 15 cars will be sold in Touring specification, with each one set to be hand-built at the company's Warwickshire technical centre. With such limited numbers, prices are expected to be higher than the standard car's £149,995."

So it's the same except without the spoiler, so they'll charge more? If they made it RHD and £60-70k they might sell a few.

The regular project 8 was available with or without rear seats

They’re getting desperate now. First a race series to try and shift them, now they’re actually listening to people telling them that they look dumb with huge spoilers!

Yes, when they say "available in strictly limited numbers" I presume they mean "limited to all the ones we couldn't shift with the garish tat taken off"

It strikes me - are there 15 unsold Project 8s, from which the spoiler is being unbolted and the graphics removed with a hairdryer?

Personally it amused me how Harry doubled down and switched the wheels to gold ones for the full Scooby WRX look

If he had any credibility he lost it claiming these weren't utterly shit.

Up close the finish on the kit, the grilles etc are terrible.

I think a journalist of some sort lives near me as I’ve seen a blue one with the rear wing out and about in the town. I also saw the only blue VXR8 touring, a beautiful purple RS6 and lots of nice performance Merck’s and BMWs. Compared to the Matt green GT3 and grey Aventador the project 8 had far more presence coming down the road.

I like all the geeky features, body panels being ever so slightly longer etc etc, it appeals.

It must have shit balance if losing the rear wing means they have to reduce top speed by 20 mph.

Anyone else look at aero kit on cars and wonder how can it add 000s lbs of pressure if it looks like you could tear it off with one hand ?
