Freed from the shackles of being a car show.
How about not having a sig at all?

Also looking forward to that. In some ways looks less silly than many of their previous adventures... not sure that will be borne out when I watch it though

It’d look a lot better if Hammond would stop dropping tar into his hair.

My children will definitely enjoy that based on the trailer.

Of course I'll enjoy a lot of it, but I bet a lot of the scripted stuff will make me cringe as always.
Cheers,

Mike.

Yeah I watched it at 1am when results were being announced. It’s the same old stuff just without cars, I enjoyed it.

Just watched and really enjoyed it. Cocking about, some interesting stuff, genuine lolz from the family and some amazing photography (videography?), especially on the South China Sea.

I thought it was pretty average. They did some stupid things; it was obvious they’d go on the South China Sea but their boats weren’t just river boats anyway. The distances covered weren’t really obvious. And it generally wasn’t particularly funny, nor enlightening. Felt like Clarkson really shoe-horned his history stuff in.

Is this the first of a new series of GT?

Amazon says it’s the first of a series of feature length episodes, it doesn’t say how frequently they will be shown.

Agree with this. It was ok but felt a little pointless and the history bit, although obviously there to tell a tale of remarkable wartime escapades, felt a bit underworked.

Compare and contrast to the original Vietnam or South America specials and it just felt a bit stale. I'd quite like another along the lines of Clarkson's mini documentary on the Arctic Convoys instead to be honest.
