Being half the world away from family and mates gets pretty rough at times.

Whereabouts in Tasmania, out of interest? I have relatives in Penguin. We visited a few years back, only went as far as Stanley to the West and Cradle Mountain down a bit.
Left over crest; tightens.

The other end. The inlaws are 20 mins outside of Hobart - spread through Kingston, Margate, Snug and Kettering.

Drove to Tas for Christmas.
Was delightful.
While I'm not on fire in Melbourne, it's still pretty shitty.
Yesterday on the way to work:
This morning:
Our work website has been smashed (https://www.epa.vic.gov.au/for-community/airwatch)
Max load ever was 97 users a minute, avalanche tested at 211 users a minute.
Yesterday, 4000 users a minute

In Melb:
Booze is more expensive.
Broadband and mobile plans are more expensive.
Food shopping is similar.
Petrol is cheaper.
Eating out is cheaper.
I think renting is cheaper - we are paying the same as London but are 20 mins away from the center of town rather than 45 mins we were in London.

Mine isn't.
Currently looking after a Service Desk of 6.
London was half an IT dept of 3 teams of 10.
I'm on the same money in Aus, I think there's still a bit of mystique here that has evaporated in the UK.
