Stickyish: Phone Pictures Thread
Re: Stickyish: Phone Pictures Thread
It's times like this I wish I had a proper camera and not just a phone one. Sunset in Zadar Croatia early September, previously described by Alfred Hitchcock as the most beautiful sunset in the world, he had a point.
Your opinion is very important for me. Thank you please.
Re: Stickyish: Phone Pictures Thread
If only Hitchcock would have had his iPhone X with him.

Lovely place Zadar.
As is our pub where some people take their lizard.

What's not to like about sunset and lizard pictures?
I'm delighted with the iPhone camera in terms of the quality v portability but there's no doubt I'd rather have a DSLR with me. The phone camera is particularly bad at capturing the sheer scale when out in the hills for example.

I couldn't see any smoke on or off water.

Apparently I have a fetish for sunsets. I took this because of the contrast between where I was standing (shitehole) and the distant awesomeness of the sunset over the south downs. Also the changing light was bouncing off the rails in the distance which was interestng to watch. Again a proper camera would have made much better work of this.

I rarely take non car photos these days, but it was quite pretty tonight. Too lazy to actually go outside though
And 20 mins later

A few from this weeks dog walks. The cold weather is killing the battery on my old phone so I've ordered an iphone XR. It might be the wrong choice but I couldn't physically make myself spend a grand on an iphone so it'll have to do.
Re: Stickyish: Phone Pictures Thread
Keep trying, you’ll get a decent photo one of these days...
Re: Stickyish: Phone Pictures Thread
iphone Xr was delivered yesterday. It's a big heavy thing (for a pocket device) but I'm sure that I'll get used to it.
Not really had a chance to get out and about with it yet but I've had a play with it around the home. Seems to pick up the colours a lot better than my old phone did.
Looking forward to getting out and about with it.

Not used to the size and feel of the bigger phone yet. I keep taking screenshots instead of photos due to the fact that the relevant buttons for taking a screenshot are exactly in the spot where I want to hold the damn thing when taking a photo. You can probably change that though..in fact I probably could've changed that in the time it took me to moan about it..
I'm not taking photos that I like much with it yet tbh. It's a bit like when you buy better hifi and all your old cds sound a bit shit. The greater resolution makes everything a bit more ..erm realistic looking. My dog looks more like the fleabag he really is and my series 3 looks strangely like a rusty old land rover.
It really is good with colour though. The screen is way better than the one on my macbook. It is also way better than my old phone at taking shots at night/poor light.

For comparison, first one was taken with with my old phone (iphone6). Other one with my new phone (XR). Both in taken in the same room.
