Free Guy
Went to an actual cinema to watch it. Were they always that loud? It was bordering on unpleasant at times.
Anyways, film was really funny, full of gags, jokes, and Ryan Reynolds doing what he does best. Not exactly deep, and anyone even remotely familiar with IT will cringe a few times, but well worth a watch.

The Dry
Eric Bana stars in this Aussie drama about a federal cop going back to the small rural town where he grew up after his childhood friend and his family are killed.
Pretty good - kept you guessing and the overlap with the story of why he left the town in the first place keeps you guessing even more.

Saw Our Ladies in a little independent cinema on Sunday night. Quite a nice British film, amusing and emotional. 8 stolen school uniforms out of 10.
Re: The Movie Thread
Feels like ages since I've watched anything new that's really grabbed my attention.
A lot of ropey Sci-Fi, Horror and action movies
I've got really into the movies of Scott Adkins recently.

An absolute unit

Saw Shang Chi with my lad. His bf/sidekick was played by the actress who was the thief in the last Jumanji film and she is brilliant in this too. It is typical comic book stuff with Razorfist as one of the baddies.
We both enjoyed it, if you like comic nonsense then definitely go see it.
Still some newbs won't stay until the end. The final final was a tad predictable and I wonder of we will get a Disney + series but I did like the first "coming soon" bit.

Caught this last week too, nothing extra ordinary in there but it was enjoyable throughout. Some proper LOL stuff in there too.DeskJockey wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 11:23 pm Free Guy

Can't say you weren't warned Dinny!
Spiderman 2002 the first Kirsten Dunst one. Boy is there some ropey looking SFX for a movie from the noughties! Kirsten Dunst is still great though.

I know Rob but I thought hey, it can't be that bad.

Re: The Movie Thread
This looks great
I hope they explain how Thomas and Trinity are alive again (considering at the end of 'Revolutions' both their bodies were at the machine city).

The Hummingbird Project.
It’s about process speeds in stocks and shares and making a faster network.
It was a good film but I wasn’t sure about the ending. It seemed to be missing something even though I enjoyed the acting.
Salam Hayek looked absolutely stinking my amazing though.
Dave!

Re: The Movie Thread
I hope they go a bit more trippy with it as per the trailer theme, as opposed to getting too far up it's own fundament.....
Re: The Movie Thread
Not sure. The whole point of the Matrix was intertwined with the sepia film noir style of cinematography - that trailer seems to suggest they've ditched all of that...
Re: The Movie Thread
Things I’ve taken from watching that trailer once without paying too much attention-
-Only one Wachowski involved
-Lawrence Fishburn must have been busy
-lots of blue pill references
