The escorts the owners pay to suck their cocks would do a good job of feigning being impressed with them, I'm sure.

Jokes aside, most RMs trade above retail price.
I posted while looking at my phone and didn't spot it was a Mille until I looked on my PC... er, why are they trying to compete with the Chinese?

Unbelievable.

I don't know if I'm more stupefied that someone would make a watch like that thinking anybody would buy one... or that there genuinely are people who would buy it, for £70, let alone £700K.
Cheers,

Mike.

Thanks Evo forum - this thread inspired me to pull my finger out and refurb some of my watches (and buy a new one!)

I'm particularly pleased with the 1370, which I just picked up of ebay for a fiver (dead battery and horrible strap). I pinched the strap off the F91W, and put that on the yellow striped one instead (race team colours!).
The Seiko Kinetic was a bequest to me a couple of years ago, but I needed to add a couple of links into the strap. It's nice, but it is a seriously weighty thing, and gold isn't usually my bag - we'll see how well I gel with it.
I've always had a soft spot for the MQ-24, but the standard strap is *really* nasty, so I picked up the RWB nato while I was getting the yellow striped one (£2.99, don't you know!)

So, a grand total of £20 spent on four (sort of) new working watches! Happy days :D

Plenty of empty white space on that dial that a fine whiteboard marker could fix.

NATO haters will be pleased to know my Seiko is currently on a rather nice one.

Anyway, I didn't bump this thread just to post a picture of the same watch on a third different strap. I've been seeing regular ads on Facebook for Watchgang and it struck me as such a stupid idea that I couldn't understand why it existed. You pay a monthly subscription ($29.99, $99.99 or $299.99, presumably qualifying your level of gullibility) and get sent a random watch each month. Brits have to pay an extra $19 or so postage, which makes the bottom tier of membership look even worse value.

Who on earth wants to end up with random crap watches posted to them each month? I wonder if Watchgang sell enormous watch storage boxes?

I suppose is it any different to a wine club where they send you a random case every month? (assuming such a model exists)

It's targeted to those people just starting out on watches and will end up with a drawer of "shitters". It's a great way to shift highly profitable and cheaply-made watches.

A different second-hand (boom boom) watch every month that you have to either resize (bracelet), share some skin with others (rubber or leather) or hide in a drawer (NATO) ? No ta.

Although it has given me a great idea for an internet based y-fronts business....

At least wine is consumable. I can see a need for more wine next month, and the month after.

Speaking of resizing, I bought a bracelet for my Oris Divers 65 and it's the first time I've encountered pins and collars. Why the fuck are we still using them? Had to use a full sized hammer to get the pins out. Also, quick release straps FTW.

A hammer? I've never encountered a pin and collar come loose, unlike screws, so I'm quite happy with them. I've also made sure to take them out the right way so never required a hammer

I bought one of those cheap vice tools which also comes with a small mallet but it's useless. I've never had a screw come loose.

I nearly lost my much-loved Chris Ward C11 when a screw fell out whilst visiting the Postojna caves. 😳

Whilst that isn’t a euphemism, I do like now to ensure I have several good tight screws every few weeks.
