In a statement, No 10 thanked Mr Johnson for his work and said a replacement would be announced shortly.
Shouldn't be too hard - the guy's a fucking clown.

Trouble is, replace Theresa with... Whom?

She's the only one trying to be practical with the way forward. You just can't stamp your feet and stick 2 fingers up at Brussels. We'll be all the poorer for it if we do.

Exactly, leaving is never going to benefit us, stick a new PM in place, explain that it was never going to work and the referendum was only an indication of opinion anyway and forget the whole thing!

It really is a shambles. I don't think even the most pessimistic remainer could've predicted it going this badly.

I thought it was amazing how they managed to come up with an exit plan that literally nobody liked.

Maybe it's finally UKIP and their new meme army's time .

The thing is, if they ignore the results of the referendum where do we stop? Don't like the results of the next general election so we'll ignore that too?

This was always going to end in a massive train wreck, taking lots of careers down. It's just happened sooner than expected.

As to next leaders of the Tory party? Who would you pick? Gove, the gurning fool? Rees-Mogg the biggoted religious zealot? Hunt the complete fuckwit? The bookies are saying Rees-Mogg.

I'm predicting riots before the end of summer.

Declare the result void as the leave campaign broke the law and blatantly lied. That might be a start.

An election has an outcome, that has always been the case, a referendum is asking people's opinion with no legal action required after it. You could ask the country if they prefer apples or oranges but the result doesn't need to become the national fruit!

General state of U.K. politics is pretty rotten right now. A democracy which gives you the choice of voting for an incompetent fool or an incompetent fool.
How about not having a sig at all?

Who would want to lead the Conservatives at the moment with all this crap hanging over them? They'd have to be not right in the head.

Edit - Apples.

This could be a masterstroke by Theresa. By being forced out of office, she can wash her hands of the responsibility of no deal and the resultant shitstorm of economic meltdown while claiming "It's not *my* fault! I would have made it work!"

Or she's a hopeless fool who shouldn't be in charge of a Church fete cake stall.

One or the other....

Edit - Strawberry, you imbecile!

I think it’s time for a new political party in the UK; a “none of the above” one. Problem is, Southgate’s not back from the World Cup yet and we don’t have anyone with a high enough profile that we like enough!

Christ, and we laughed at the US!...
Cheers,

Ian
