Does it need a name?

Post by Rich B »

Obviously this has been set up very quickly with a domain name that Matty has kindly grabbed, but is this an opportunity for a bit of a rebrand?

Seemingly most of us don’t read evo any more, and the rest have been shunned by the eviction. So, the name doesn’t really suit - anyone got any bright ideas? Car related or not?

I always quite liked the OV9 idea because it had clear links to where we were, but any bright ideas?

OV9 is good, be even better if we could get some window stickers from somewhere.

It can be renamed easily enough - if someone wants to make some suggestions, we can create a poll (fancy)

evo - backwards. It suits rather nicely I think.

Pretty sure "cunts corner" wouldn't go down well as a car sticker but it still describes this lot

The first time the mag made some free stickers, they put the adhesive on the wrong side. So if you put an evo sticker inside your car window it read 'ov9' from the outside.

Was corrected on a later print run.

On 'names' dyelc.co.uk is available. But I'm happy with evoreaders.co.uk at the mo. At least it keeps a notional link for all of us.

Gotcha - I like it. Lets go with that before someone suggests "Teh BMW Fanbois".

TBH, I like evoreaders. Whatever we are now, it started with evo, and there is no evo forum anymore. You never know, it might even entice some new people to abuse.

Can we have someone set up an overly complicated nomination system, which leads to an overly complicated voting system, which leads to the person regretting ever getting involved?

Evononreaders.com? :P

I like OV9, but it’s only an address. My auto fill means that I just type the letter “f” and it fills this address in; maybe “f-in” for short?

Initially read that as window lickers. Didn't think that would be too much of an issue

Happy with either name but the tag line should be ‘the thrill of leasing’

Can we settle on VAG Borrowers? We don't want to alienate the Audi and Skoda customers of this parish...

I can’t think of any proposals that aren’t just filth. :?

So I too vote for ov9 as a nod to an old gag.

I don’t think it should refer to Evo at all now. It’s not like old forum users and mag readers are going to find it. OV9 is about as close to the mag while being sufficiently different as I think it should get.

Looking forwards, not back... there’s a decent number of people registering but it’s going to be hard to get any new blood.
