Looks like it could be an interesting weather weekend. 100+ mm of rain in the south west and a big swirly storm spewing wind and rain all over the country.

'twas the Harvest Moon on the first. Fear not if you missed the full moon, there's another on Hallowe'en :P

The wind driving the rain has found a couple of leaks; the porch door (which does on the odd occasion let a dribble in), and the bedroom window which was muchly worse and necessitated mopping and the purchasing of dehumidifiers. It may just be bad luck with everything coming together just so in a way it hasn't before and never will again but today's forecast is much the same as yesterday's except more rain  :(

Bah; I'm late posting this, Mars is the biggest and brightest it'll be until 2035 at around midnight. It's been getting brighter over the last few weeks and will shrink away afterwards, but tonight's the night if you're not covered with cloud  It rose in the east at sunrise and will set in the west at sunrise. I'll probably have to settle for looking at other peoples' pics tomorrow.

Started washing my car at 9am, and due to all these heavy showers I’ve currently managed 4 wheels and snow foaming the body 😂
Just feck off rain!

I'd be happy with just snow foaming and letting the rain rinse atm

Number of donkey-brained idiots encountered by my wife on the 2.5 mile drive to the stables this morning: 6.

Two were going for the usual "if I floor it, that'll work" approach.

One was stuck.

Two stopped to help the person stuck, but left their cars in the middle of the road, with their door open and a snow shovel in the road, therefore blocking the road for non-donkey-brained drivers. One then got in their car and drove off while weaving on to the wrong side of the road and heading straight for my wife's car.

My wife flagged someone down at the bottom of the hill to warn them cars were getting stuck so they might want to take the flat, longer (by 2 miles) way round. They decided against this and were last seen spinning their wheels furiously about 20 yards up the hill.
Cheers,

Mike.

More importantly though, my new TV delivery has just been cancelled as they're stuck in traffic on the A74 so have given up for the day.

Nice, 2 inches of snow and it all goes to shit now. It’s like the bar gets lower every year.

😂 They would still get nowhere after the first year once the tyres are worn down to the indicators.

A light sprinkling this morning in Pudsey, post-commute time though, handily.

Not really lasting though.
