Re: The Weather Thread.
Yep, awful.
There are two spots on my commute which have been flooded across the road several inches deep and 20m or so long since late November, and several other sections which flood across any time there’s a half decent shower.
My brakes are really hating it too. They were fine for months on end until it started getting damp and horrible, now they screech and squeal the first few times they’re used until surface corrosion is cleared off and they get some heat in them. And the roads are so crappy I’m struggling to do any really hard stops without looking like a spacker and triggering the hazard lights.
Cheers, Harry
Re: The Weather Thread.
It finally started snowing from 5am and settling. I made the most of it with the family as it only snows here once every 3 years now.
It’s at about 4 inches in open areas with heavy snow forecast until Monday night so it might get really good

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: The Weather Thread.
Great setting for the Landie photo Mito. I took it into the garage and showed it to my car, which seemed to shiver!
Re: The Weather Thread.
It’s still snowing and my dad wanted a bit of a challenge. The Landie is like playing a game in easy mode. The X5 is more of a hard difficulty because it likes to get stuck. It was all going well until we hit a steep narrow lane where a hedge had fallen into the road from the weight of the snow.
I got out to try and move it aside but just ended up propping it back up with my ass. In the meantime the X5 started sliding back down the hill for a good 50 metres.
Eventually I see it reappear bouncing from verge to verge
Got my phone out in time for the last few seconds

Re: The Weather Thread.
Just light blowy stuff here, but started to settle over the last hour or so.
Think the journey in and heading 30 miles east at 5am tomorrow might not be great.

Re: The Weather Thread.
Cold up here, but limited snow. Was utterly pissing it down last night though.
Re: The Weather Thread.
Freezing cold, strong wind and a light smattering of polystyrene ball style snow here. Teesside’s unique location with hills on 3 sides does make a lot of bad weather just fly over the top of us though
Re: The Weather Thread.
Bright and sunny here in Plymouth. With the wind and freezing temperatures it's doing a good job at drying the grass out, I might even get it cut later!
Mito, does your dad still have the F150?

Re: The Weather Thread.
Bit of a light snow of maybe a quarter to a half inch, although the roads seem to be relatively clear. The silver lining seems to be that we're due a dry week or so after this settles down, which will be a mercy. It had been so damp recently that I felt I was going to have to start looking at property based in a submarine.
Re: The Weather Thread.
Yes used that on Saturday to move a solar panel deep into the woods - at that point the ground was more bog like so we ended up going to a Sainsbury’s jet wash and giving it a quick once over before heading home. Didn’t want to get it dirty straight away again

Re: The Weather Thread.
Got a good 2-3cm of the polystyrene ball stuff overnight, so not a great deal, but when it’s compressing my god is it slippy. Fell over twice in the works car park this morning it’s coming down as proper big snowflakes now
Re: The Weather Thread.
The polystyrene stuff is great for getting a glass full and adding coke to it! Best slushy ever.

Re: The Weather Thread.
Milton Keynes woke to a light dusting but it was very cold so not really melting - the early cars on our street were compacting it rather than turning it to slush.
It's melted a fair bit in the mean time so now, the snow's coming down hard but not settling
