Interesting about the F40 climbing ever higher, how does that line up with (relatively) so many being made?

Could any current manufacturer possibly replicate that popularity or is the supercar model cycle just to rapid or competitive now for that to happen?

The thought of using a Ford GT as a paperweight is amusing. I didn't know that Ford insisted on a 2 year ownership. What do they do if you sell before that time elapses? Stop you buying a Fiesta or F150?

It’s most likely an age thing. The F40 was a poster car for people now in their 40s-50s, so the potential consumer demand will be close to peak.
Once the aspiring owners of particular models hit their 70’s demand tails off for everything other than the exceptional, such as an early Bugatti, Alfa 8C or Blower Bentley.
When I was doing it as a day job c.2009-2012 there was a clear drop in demand for cars from the 50s, and cars from the 80s were just about to start making significant gains.
We had a sensible mileage F40 sat in the showroom for months that we would have let go for £300k, and an early single mirror 6,000 mile Testarossa for £65k that we couldn’t shift, but a Miura (£400k) or Gullwing (£800k) was an easy sale!

Im not sure that is true. Theres a supercardriver member video I'll look for in a minute whos has a f40 instead of money in investments.

The F40 might be one of the exceptions, much like the 80 year old wanting to drive one, but there are quite a few to choose from. When I say close to peak, I mean in the next 2-5 years, not next month.

Who knows Jim. Theres all this magic money coming from crypto so you can never tell whats around the corner. Who would have thought a F1 was going from 1 to 20 million pounds.

They take you to court. Ford has actually done this in a couple of cases and been very public about it. AS a $40 billion company, Ford has plenty of lawyers.

Well, thanks to no ABS or any sort of traction control, there are a lot few F40s currently in existence.

Doubt anyone will be able to replicate the uniqueness and aura of an F40 today, just to much other noise/competition in the pipeline.
