F80 m3 lump makes 800bhp pretty easily, I’d imagine 1000 isn’t out of reach.

Ford 3.5l ecoboost makes 600+ pretty easily with just tuning and external modifications. There was a company running one with 600 at the wheels long term to check reliability. Maybe changing the turbos would get it near to 1000bhp.
Just had a look and the engine supposedly weighs 203kg dry which isn’t too bad. And at $9000 it’s almost disposable 😂
How about not having a sig at all?

+Gas turbine for range ;) ditch all the fancy stuff and you've got a CX75 as originally intended.

And that's the kind of project that Nef would do.

I saw an old default Silver one in Milton Keynes a few weeks ago and got thinking about Exiges Cl and Lemmy’s Sl and did some Autotrading. I couldn’t believe how cheap a Twin Turbo V12 could be got for.

I mean Bankruptcy on a Stick but come on, it’s a Twin Turbo V12 8-)
Ok, seems they go as quickly as they appear. There were 3 when I last looked, now none.

But I still think I’m winning this thread.

Get this for £16k

https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auct ... turbo-v12/

Say maximum 4 grand for filter, map and accoutrements.

Bingo - 1000 Hp Mercedes Daily Driver.

I'll take your Ginetta chassis and raise you a Radical SR3 RS rolling chassis - https://racecarsdirect.com/Advert/Detai ... ng-chassis
There's a big ol' hole in the back that could be filled with something interesting. V6 ecoboost is a well-trodden path, but 1000bhp is probably a bit of a stretch. Maybe a Tesla motor up front too and some very clever software to juggle the torque balance

Although, the sensible head says buy one of these - Formula Renault and swap the F4R for a F4RT with all the fancy bits (400-450bhp?).
Nowhere near the 1000bhp target, but probably a better route to record-breaking lap times.

I love @Nefarious ’s concept of “sensible head” 😎 but yeah - if you actually want a car that can emulate the AF monster rather than hit a headline number…. That’s more like it.

Hold the phone - you never said anything about lap times... My S class idea isn't looking so good now.

1000bhp per tonne is a more impressive target than just 1000bhp tbh

You could start with the jag and put 1000bhp in that. Ultimate street sleeper.

And re. the Cummins suggestion - there's a tractor-pulling guy in the states that builds Cummins 6BTs/ISBs with 3000bhp-ish. All the other guys are rattling through half a dozen $50k engines in a season. He just accepts that an engine will last one run, fills all the cooling system with concrete, and treats the block/head/internals as disposable. <$2k per engine, and when it blows up you bolt the fancy fuel pump and turbo to the next block.

 8-)

If you could persuade Dan to turbot he'd probably get there.
