Nurburgring 24hour 2021

Post by RobYob »

Seems to have crept up on me this year.

Starts at 14:30 today.

Usual places to watch

I assume RLM will commentate on the official english stream but their website has been redesigned by someone who last worked on myspace.

Surprising to see the Hurracans qualify 1&2 lets hope for good race pace and a lot of luck for the Bull boys, be great to see them on the podium.

Top 10 is a mix of Porsche, Merc, BMW and the fastest Audi qualified 11th.

There's a pair of F488 on track too along with the Glicknehaus entry starting in 29th.

Good to see the old Viper still there along with the fox tail Manta.

A single Supra and Vantage in the mix too.

What are you on about, the Rowe BMW qualified pole. Hurrucan was second, AMG GT third I think. The last qualifying session was nuts - the whole track was waterlogged and it flipped the field from the dry session as it favoured the front engine cars more with the Porsche 911s nowhere.

This horrifically formatted "Starting group list" does line up with what you've said though. If you read it from bottom to top...

The second link was the final super pole qualifying session which I was under the impression that it sorted out the final grid positions for the top 30 cars. I’m pretty sure there were only 30 cars so no idea why there’s way more listed in that 😂

Edit - I’m mistaken, it was qualifying the top 20 - you can see from the link that the first 10 rows have way slower lap times over 10 minutes as it was raining heavily. Then a few didn’t bother to run.
Looks like they’ve just amalgamated them all. The chap who wrote it up needs a lesson in how to use excel.

Gotcha! :D

Anyway, fingers crossed for the race being the usual epic chaos fest with nail biting finish.

I caught the first 2 laps and just sat down with a beer to watch for a few hours. Fuck you fog.
