Mobile Speed Cameras on tripod question

Post by Broccers »

Out side a van with an officer sat in a chair behind.

Do these have a second camera somewhere? Like that can read motorbike plates.

Yes 45 in a 30

Definitely a speed camera and not a tax check?

Bedale village out for speeders for sure. I nearly rear ended the car in front who broke sharply for no reason, accelerated around it and bingo

Those little N.York Police camera vans are buggers to see. They usually have other CCTV type cameras as well as the speed one. I'd be surprised if you didn't get a ticket TBH.

If you've had a course I don't think they will offer you it again if it was within 12 Months?

You're only offered it once every three years.

Got caught doing 59 on the M6 temporary speed limit of 50 in December. Sat the course a couple of weeks ago. I found it interested and useful.

Presume it was the same guy outside Masham yesterday. Think I was OK despite being at about 36 indicated in order to clear some cyclists.

Fingers crossed! I was actually taking it steady instead of wheeling down to Masham. That roads brill if it wasn't for these kill joys.

The road from Ripon to Masham then on all the way up to Hawes is superb. Love it!

The new bypass out of Bedale was a superb road when it opened, wide, straight and well sighted, I bet that's full of coppers now.

I managed a 2 car overtake with the Caravan on the back down there when we used to store it in Crakehall πŸ˜‚

All those bits of the old A1 from Walshford to Dishforth then from Melmerby up to Bedale are terrible for it too. Nice roads with great visibility and there is always plod on there making a nuisance of themselves.

Yes it's a real shame as years ago north Yorkshire wasn't littered with speed guns. Even so it's still good. Until recently I had fly fishing on the river ure just past https://www.jervaulxabbey.com/ it did sound like a race track at times with bikes in the evening. Didn't bother me πŸ˜€

Hard to enjoy the roads in a badly ageing mpv, 4-up and full to the brim with holiday luggage  Yes, nice roads though. We always stop at the White Bear for lunch when travelling, excellent food and an idyllic location.
