Not really. Exciting first lap or two then no different to any other race.
Certainly no ‘wow that was fun, what a good idea’ moment anyway.

I'd argue it was worse than a normal race as you didn't even have the chance of a messed up pit stop etc.integrale_evo wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 6:31 pm Not really. Exciting first lap or two then no different to any other race.

On the whole I thought it’s less exciting than a regular qualifying session too as there’s no last lap crescendo and then it makes the more exciting now Friday quali a bit meaningless. After lap 2 you knew that it’s basically how it’s going to end not withstanding a freak accident or breakdown.
How about not having a sig at all?

Was a bit optimistic. Would usually be max doing that sort of move and everyone else jumping out of the way.

Re: No F1 thread?
For me, on the first lap that shouldn't be penalised being how marginal it was. Max is so aggressive sometimes that drivers usually yield, but LH knows he can't be nice anymore. Max could have got out of it, LH could as well.
Re: No F1 thread?
Three standing starts in a weekend is great anyway.
Re: No F1 thread?
That’s the beauty of being quite far behind in the championship - taking more risks whilst the leader is usually the conservative one just trying to bring it home. Good to see the shoe on the other foot for once.integrale_evo wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 3:40 pm Was a bit optimistic. Re: No F1 thread?
There was a couple of seconds of footage from Max's car just after he'd hit the tyres and it didn't look like he was moving
I wonder if he was knocked out for a moment?

Came good in the end. I particularly liked how he disproved Horner’s comment on how Copse is too dangerous a corner to overtake on by doing every overtake this race down there.

God, Horner is a whinging twat.
Re: No F1 thread?
Yeah, I think the way Horner has carried on is a bit poor. No doubt part of it is that he was genuinely worried for his driver and a bit fired up because of that, but it was a marginal incident that Max could have equally avoided. They're both hard racers in fairly even cars, it's not going to be the last time they come together and maybe next time it's Max more at fault.
Re: No F1 thread?
Fantastic see Lewis FINALLY getting tough with Verstapen. Plenty of room for both cars IMO, Max choosing the outside to defend was a mistake, meaning he'd be on the marbles if he left room for Lewis on the inside. He didn't, and chopped in on Hamilton to hit the apex. Tough break, but totally a racing incident. By punishing racing like this, you incite a fear of overtaking into the drivers.
No-one yields in F1. It's the pinnacle of motorsport.
Sublime recovery by Hamilton. The boy still has the fire!

I’m not a Ham Fan - there was absolutely nothing wrong with what he did here IMHO.
And Max looks like a bit of a nob with this tweet
