The big question is why was Bottas's Mercedes being overtaken by a Williams?

Yes, he's completely pointless. Are they not enforcing the 107% rule anymore? I would have thought he'd fallen foul of that.

2 reasons- lando is fully integrated with the team and fully aware of the cars handling characteristics more than Daniel will after minimal running in the car. Also lando apparently raced at imola with junior formulas a lot, so has much more experience of the circuit

Thought this was a great race. Hamilton’s healthy dose of luck continues too.

Yep, two full seasons with McLaren and Lando is very much comfortable in the car.

I saw an interview where they said to DR that Carlos Sainz likened moving team to almost switching to a different formula of racing. DR pretty much agreed with that.

Must be harder to become a custom to an new F1 team/car these days, as there's so little testing. Simulator can only help to a point.

Back in the Michael Schumacher era he could do three race distances a day at Fiorano, if he wanted to 😂

Every team has different buttons and switches on the steering wheel for brake balance etc, will take a while for muscle memory to kick in rather than thinking about every change

It's amazing to realise that all of the Q2 qualifying times were within a second of each other. In 1996 only the top 4 were within a second in Qualifying and Badoer's Forti was 5.147 off the pace in qualifying. Montermini was 6.795 behind and fell foul of the 107% rule.

Oi, bugger off with facts, everyone knows the racing was better "before" although not as good as "when I were a lad" and way behind "The golden era"

I remember when we had V8s, V10s and V12s. I'm also old enough to remember turbo 4 cylinders (but I wasn't watching then.)

That was just the first season of the V10’s when Ferrari stuck with a V12 wasn’t it??

I remember when Fred Flintstone got caught sandpapering his feet for better traction in the wet.
