No F1 thread?
Re: No F1 thread?
I don’t understand F1 at times, I thought it was given the all clear by the FIA for this year.

It has been given the all clear. Merc have come out strong, Horner has pulled some shithousery to try and knock them a bit, end result could be fans don't get the result at the finish line on Sunday. Also, Red Bull are being a bit coy about whether they've managed to fit a DAS type system to their car so it may be a distraction from that.

It's F1. It has always been thus. Anyway, it was cleared under one section of the rulebook - RB are protesting under two different subsections

Re: No F1 thread?
I hope they have football style cardboard cutouts in the grandstands so the race director has something to cut to so viewers miss vital parts of the action.

Well it’s pouring with rain and 40 mph winds today so guess I’m watching Sky F1 all day. Indy race later too!

So what’s the cheapest way to get F1 where I can watch it when it suits me ?
A dongle I’m guessing ?

Yes, and reading between the lines of Horner’s convoluted answer to that just now it’s clear that it’s a very complicated system, they couldn’t replicate it between testing and now so decided to protest it

Re: No F1 thread?
I know Mercedes said it’s been years in the making, but I guess the gamble they took was hoping no one could copy it relatively quickly. Looks like there more complexity to the design than simply replicating the mechanism e.g. parts durability, material bending and friction levels.

Yeah, shocker from Ferrari. They might as well write this season off already.

The F2 cars look like they’ve been on Pimp My Ride - those 17 inch wheels

It’ll be really obvious when they start cheating again

Yes Ferrari and Alfa down by 1 second compared to last year. Considering that the developments from last year should account to a 0.5 second advantage then we can deduce that their fuel sensor bypass was effectively giving them a 1.5 second advantage per lap last year. Staggering.

Hamilton under investigation, apparently not slowing for yellows when Valtteri went for his little excursion and going wide at turn 10 in early run of Q3
