Anyone who's not questioning everything to get the best performance isn't a champion.

Re: No F1 thread?
I watched another post race interview where LH was practically welling up about how grateful he is to the team, so I don't know what you've been watching mik?

calm down fanboi.NotoriousREV wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 7:33 pmWhat a load of bollocks, he immediately thanked James, and apologised for doubting the strategy, on the radio after the flag and he ALWAYS thanks the team and those in the factory after EVERY race.mik wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 7:30 pm Great call from Merc. I cant do anything but rate Ham as a driver, but the fact he was unable to recognise / thank the team for this strategic decision (based on Sky1 highlights post-race discussion) - which won him the race - is the kinda shizzle that prevents me being a fan.
I qualified where I watched the race - they didnt show that footage. And if he apologised for doubting the strategy (which he doesnt do in that clip) over the team radio, then I shall eat my humble pie. Nom nom nom.
Re: No F1 thread?
Another very enjoyable race.
I hate how the Channel 4 highlights go straight from stepping out of the car to podium ceremony, so we don't get to see the top three interview and 'room of awkwardness' which are the only times we get to see some human interaction between the drivers.
Edit: at least they showed the radio clip where he apologised to James for doubting the strategy

Yeah, enjoyed that. Not much even I could’ve done better really...

The amusing thing is, I seem to remember someone on here complaining ages ago that LH thanks his team too much!

That was a great race and LH still wasn’t 100% well either. I think Bottas could be out for next year though, plus the gaps between drivers in the same team really showed why the number 1’s were number 1’s in that race.
More racing like the last 3/4 please, especially as the season looked to be so dull!

Re: No F1 thread?
I'm going to speculate that they'll keep Bottas and get Ocon into Williams for Kubica. The logic being, Bottas will be a better wing man than Ocon while LH goes for the magic no.7, and they will also get to see their two young drivers go head to head in Russell and Ocon in a straight fight for the Merc seat the season after (LH may go to Ferrari then, so could be two seats free anyway). /EJ

Re: No F1 thread?
Why would LH want to go to Ferrari? Unless Merc falters in the performance stakes he appears to have the very best deal and opportunity on the grid.

It'll not happen but Mercedes should sign Alonso, then we'll see pure fireworks and even better racing.

I'd rather see Merc sign Ricciardo.
Re: No F1 thread?
Why would either team have a young driver program then go and pick someone random.
How about not having a sig at all?
