I quite like it, but now you’ve said about it looking very computer gamey I can definitely agree with that. Doesn’t help that they’ve released the car as renders

Re: No F1 thread?
I thought I’d seen that Williams livery before and yes, it is one of the default F1 2020 skins
I’m not too into the Aston Martin green, I was undecided at launch but on track it’s fecking turquoise. What next, a grey mole

Re: No F1 thread?
"Eh Mario, I'm all outta di Rosso Corsa"
"Just getta some other Rosso Luigi"
"But they'll notice the difference Mario"
"Painta di Marlboro logo in Lamborghini Verde, that will distract their eyes"
"Bellisimo"

Re: No F1 thread?
Looking at pictures they seem to have binned off the j-vane and moved to the cape concept at the front now- there was talk last year of that been one element helping the shitness along, not really a Ferrari fan but was a bit sad to see them go so far backwards
Re: No F1 thread?
I see that they've got you fooled
I'm intrigued that Ferrari think that painting it green will escape peoples' attention. The same logo was essentially removed last year after being banned at most tracks in 2019.

Re: No F1 thread?
Oh, I had no idea Mission Winnow were part of the Phillip Morris group so in that respect their subterfuge failed!
Re: No F1 thread?
Ferrari were always well known for selling their entire car to Phillip Morris and letting them sort the sponsors. Think that’s still their model
Re: No F1 thread?
Yep, they have an odd model whereby Philip Morris recoup their costs by sorting out sponsors themselves. They even pick the whole Ferrari paint scheme. So in the 1990’s they changed from the darker Rossi Corsa to the Marlboro red.
The current matt paints apparently don’t have any aerodynamic effect either - at least according to Ted Kravitz who asked some respected aerodynamicist. They’re only there because the contrasting colours of the sponsors are picked up more clearly vs having everything in gloss

Re: No F1 thread?
Cameras find it easier to focus on satin / matt cars too so more likely to get more air time and exposure. The surface imperfections needed for a satin finish are so minor I can’t imagine anyone thinking there would be an aerodynamic effect. Not like they’re brushing on a think layer of chalkboard paint
Cheers, Harry
Re: No F1 thread?
Is this the most boring track ever
Re: No F1 thread?
I watched the round up then Ted's bit. It was nice to see a few driver interviews and nice that the experienced pros journalists asking "So what does this mean for your year ahead?" just after saying it is only a test so no conclusions can be drawn.
Could be a great season, would be great to have a real fight at the front and a repeat of the tight midfield too.

Re: No F1 thread?
Red Bull seem to have a strong car right from the beginning of the season for a change.

Re: No F1 thread?
Well I quite enjoyed the race. Would have been netter with Perez up the front to help with strategy but if it is that close throughout the season I will be happy enough. Shame for Alonso but if that is indicative of his performances next to Ocon, I think Ocon will struggle to retain his seat.
Re: No F1 thread?
Hats off to Kimi and Alonso for still having cat like reactions. I remember Portugal last year when Kimi had the best start out of any driver in the field for that whole season
Poor Seb isn’t that old but he certainly seems to have slowed down.

Doesn't seem that Ricciardo has been in F1 nearly a decade now!
Shame the Alpine had an issue. Pretty decent comeback from Alonso IMO.
Looks like we're on for an interesting season with Verstappen vs Hamilton, hurray.
Seems like McLaren have done a pretty good job of changing over to the Mercedes power unit. Some really nice clean overtakes from Norris.

Oui, je suis un motard.
Re: No F1 thread?
This is the most Stroll thing ever - Aston Martin going to complain to the FIA that the 2021 rule changes have negatively impacted them and they’re going to request a mid season rule change which favours them, if it is not granted they will sue
