I don’t think his reputation can get much worse, I’d stay for the money

Except if he goes now, he'll be seen as having lost the edge.
And if he stays and ends up as Leclerc’s bitch what will that make him?
Not disagreeing, but I don't think logic is the strong argument. Could he be thinking of himself as an elder statesman, supporting the young? Or just be a daft bugger that doesn't know when to quit?

He lost that when ricciardo started showing him up at redbull.

What hasn’t been explained, or if it has I missed it, is why the Ferrari came to bits so badly. Has Vettel got another secret paddle that deploys spikes out of his hubs?

True. But he's up to his eyeballs in that Egyptian river.

The tyre deflated and went massively out of balance at around 200mph shaking the suspension to bits.

The tyre was still intact but loose on the rim.

20g of balance weight missing can give a nasty steering wobble on a road car at 70mph. Imagine 5kg flapping around out of balance at three times that speed!

Setting all that aside for just a moment... The Ferrari was missing significant pace once again. Now I’m not suggesting for a moment that this could be all down to the technical directive, but ;) ;) ;)

He does seems to be driving like Bono these days... I don't think he can find what he's looking for.

I don’t understand what Lewis’ engineer has to do with this?

Exactly. I’d like to see DR in that seat.

Nicholas Latifi confirmed as Williams driver for next year. Can’t say I’ve noticed him in lower formulas.

He’s just another Stroll.

Not sure if there’s much point in young drivers paying to join Williams, it’s been a year and we have no clue if Russel is a good driver or not as the car is so crap.

Sounds unlikely to be the main reason.

Edit: BBC suggests separation due "to challenges of career", not quite what you said.

Yep, Bottas tweeted about their separation. Sad to see. Spotted her a few times at Silverstone and got a few pics.

Brings me back to the whole Rosberg thing, he almost went the same way but managed to quit as he won the championship and save his family situation.

Is there anyone in recent times who’s managed to win multiple world championships with a wife and family? I think Seb had kids after his run, Lewis is single. Alonso didn’t at the time? Schumacher?

Button, Rosberg and Raikonnen all have one WDC.

I think the dedication required to win multiple WDC’s in modern times just isn’t compatible with family and kids.
