No F1 thread?
Re: No F1 thread?
Russell looking promising in free practice - right up there it seems...

Currently fastest so far with 10 mins to go.
Shame about Claire being such a bitch and not releasing Russell a year early as that’s why they held off Bottas’ contract renewal. Poor lad has to spend another whole season in a shite car.

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: No F1 thread?
Great performance from GR, looking forward to the race tomorrow. Although if I were him I'd be trying to keep my nose clean to bag a podium (never know when you'll get another chance)... but that's probably one of the (many) reasons I'm not an F1 driver!
Re: No F1 thread?
First time he’s ever been out qualified by another driver in f1
As said on many social media channels- imagine telling George last week he’d be disappointed qualifying 0.026s off pole

Noted. Thought it was an obscure reference to the reverend formerly of this parish.

Hopefully he'll be in the fight for the win, but I think a podium would be a great thing for him too

Re: No F1 thread?
I'm just hoping he doesn't get snarled up in something at the first corner, especially if Max sniffs blood

Re: No F1 thread?
Yeah, I think he’ll be a bit of a target in the first corner, launching an unfamiliar car on the dirty side of the track.
Hoping he manages to hold his own and have a good race.
Will be tough physically though as he doesn’t really fit the car properly.

Re: No F1 thread?
Apparently Mercedes have a physical launch simulator at the track, so hopefully that will help him nail it.
Re: No F1 thread?
Bottas had a shocker in the first start from that position last week, but others on that side got away well so I don’t think starting over that side is as bad as some tracks. They’ve been modifying the clutch paddles to suit his fingers so hopefully he’ll nail it
Fatigue in the race might be more if an issue for him, the cars not designed for someone as tall as George so he’s getting battered and bruised. He’s also a size 11 shoe, but can only wear a 10 as that’s all that fits in the car......

Re: No F1 thread?
To be so close to Bottas after a couple of sessions in the car is a bloody good show. We know Bottas gets within a tenth or two of Lewis week in, week out, so it says more about George than Valteri.
I hope he has a decent race, even a boring one running round in 2nd or 3rd for 70odd laps. Looking good for 2022 in the team alongside Lewis presumably although they might pull a Ferrari and keep their second driver on and on and on, as they did with Massa and Kimi.

Re: No F1 thread?
They already enquired to Williams about releasing George early for 2021 but Claire said no. Bottas’s time is definitely counting downGavin wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 10:26 am To be so close to Bottas after a couple of sessions in the car is a bloody good show.
