Biggest residential property in the world

Post by mik »

I have to assume palaces don’t count in this context (?) but this is massively unappealing. Like being the only people living in a posh hotel. No ta.

That's more than twice the floor area of Nicholas Van Hoogstratens's unfinished monstrosity in East Sussex. Blimey. Who on earth would build such a thing?

I've just flicked through, was expecting to find some mega fancy car park area but nope, therefore I must withdraw my offer of 28 Mockdiamonds.

It is awful though, looks like the developer (can't be a private individual?!) just built as big a house as possible on that plot looking at the thumbnail - the swimming pool lined with dozens of deck chairs is particularly bad. I am perfectly imagine Bezos there

I was just thinking that it’s not even on his own island, Putin has that nailed.

It’s ridiculous, and not in a good way. The presenter is a dick. As is the designer(?)

I can appreciate large and expensive houses but this just seems so unnecessary.

I'd rather have land than a stupidly large house. Any bigger than 6 or 7 bedrooms is pointless unless you're going to rent it out for conferences or weddings...

That said I'd certainly want space for a pool, cinema / hifi room and a fully kitted out gym, so not something too small!

The claim seems to be biggest in an urban setting.

It doesn’t make it any nicer though.

How about this one... 400,000 sqft in an urban setting.

Generally I'd agree with that tbh. Although something appeals about the likes of Wentworth Woodhouse where you may not even be sure of just how many rooms there are
