For some reason the Sweet Beaver seems the most appealing :)

As 50% of our household are them veggie types we rarely get to buy decent meat. This surely means I can go the whole hog and buy some fancy stuff ?? :)
The Cheshire smokehouse is pretty local so I dare say they'll be getting an order.

I conpletely get the appeal but for a big breakfast that would be £10 on bacon alone!!!

Our local Butchers Grasmere does excellent bacon so I’ve no complaints.

Dave!

Places order for all of the bacon.

I have no idea if this is normal / abnormal / first-order bonus or what, so your experience may vary, but this was included. No hints or tips. Just a number and a request for feedback. So this may be a family palate test laterz.....

And I’ll tag @Nefarious as this might interest him...?
Did this last night with the family.

Great fun, and whilst it was very easy to say which you preferred, our palates are clearly not cultured enough identify the source of the flavours as we didn’t identify any of them (other than the honey).

No3 was great, but literally all of us went wide-eyed with no4. It was amazing.

You are fortunate I do not know your exact location Sir Mik otherwise that sounds like a great pit stop on the way up to Oban (if we get to go...)

Visitors welcome MrG and refreshments provided. 😁

Google maps reckons it would add a total of 7 miles to your journey (using a random Twickenham address as the start point.... )

Not bad on a journey of 513 miles!

It's all looking rather sketchy at the moment - Sturgeon has just noted "hard but necessary decisions" will be made in the next few days (which I expect includes keeping out us sassenachs) but I'll drop you a PM nearer the time if it looks like it will actually happen.

The news up here is already saying we shouldn't travel south because of the new lockdown rules in northern England.

What, even if you tape your vents and windows shut and drive through it at full chat? :P

Just ordered two packs of the Dark Dhubloch back bacon - for some heavily filled breakfast rolls next weekend. Plus some cCVincents streaky for experimentation.

Today we each had a roll with their (comparatively simple) honey bacon and nobody spoke for 3 minutes.

A cut above. 8-)

Just picked up 3 packs from the smokehouse. 1 dry cure, 1 honey cure and 1 black treacle. About £3.70 a pack (12-14/kg). Also got a pack of bacon offcuts - 95p for about 350g, and it was BOGOF as well 8-)

Had to restrain myself to not buy smoked salmon offcuts for £5/pack also BOGOF, and the many hundreds of other products they do

It’s got a reputation as being the best vegan bacon substitute and it’s very good. Strong smoky flavour and it gets those good little crispy bits that you get from actual bacon.

I’ve just sampled Mik’s bacon wares this afternoon and I can confirm they are dynamite. A different bacon experience entirely, I shall be placing an order myself

For anyone interested - managed to order some of the first batches of their new products last night - the best two from the “taster” ones they sent out with my first order.

Honey & Black Cardomom is truly epic.
Whereas the Honey & Lavender is truly epic-er.

I will eat all of the bacon.
ALL of it. 😎
