I spent many happy hours on the toilet looking through that thing.

There was a time it was probably the only book I read.

The stuff my dreams were made of as a kid
Re: The Argos Catalogue
Catalogue business does away with catalogue. Not very clever.
Re: The Argos Catalogue
Older people still buy from catalogues. Seeing how they are not allowed out a big item in the way gets read time after time.
Re: The Argos Catalogue
My folks are in their mid 70's and are amongst the most technically phobic and illiterate people I know.
They each have an iPad and can browse Argos just fine.

They can't be that tech iliterate. My in-laws are more tech-phobic. We had to get them a new TV recently when their 32" Loewe CRT gave up. The replacement specifically had to not have any smart tech, even though they don't even have the internet
Wife sorted one out on AO for them, and to pay her back they were going to write to the bank to make a bank tranfer

Swervin_Mervin mine are very similar. Any frightening email from scammers scares them silly. I set up their computers, TVs and iPads. Their eyesight is a bit hit and miss so dad reads the paper not online.

Not that similar. Mine don't have e-mail addresses Don't think they have a computer anymore, and don't have smartphones. The phones they do have they leave switched off unless they need them on...

Broccers once again confirming that he time travelled here from the 60s
I’m surprised they kept going for this long tbh. It must’ve been a big cost and printing thousands of paper catalogues is pretty wasteful.
The last few times I’ve bought from Argos they didn’t even use them in store.

An absolute unit

Combined marketing is the way forward, not one or the other. They're still doing a physical Xmas catalogue for example.
Also, Argos was bought by Sainsbury who haven't a history of catalogue shopping really.

Farewell Laminated Book Of Dreams
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.
