Actually, it seems people have started to spell it correctly in the last few years but it was even in the magazines as Metzger for aeons.

Looks like he started and ended his career with Porsche too. Not many people are able to say that any more.

I can just imagine the great grandkids “but we’ve searched google and he doesn’t exist, you’d think someone who created such a Legendary engine would be all over the media?”.

I reckon it’s impossible to quantify depending on how you look at it but that must be one of the most successful engines going 8-)
