What is your resting heart rate?
My mrs is still struggling a bit with getting back to help after corona so bought a finger oximeter thingy.
At rest, lounging around watching telly etc my oxygen level is 96-98, and my pulse hovers around low 50s but will often dip to high 40s, which starts the machine beeping and flashing.
I know very fit people can have a low heart rate, but I wouldn't class myself as that, I'm on my feet and active all day, but don't really do any specific high load exercise.
I'm not particularly worried about it as I feel fine, and know that 52-54 is normal for me, but the thingy beeping at me has made me think a bit more about it.
What does yours sit at, what's your age / build etc?

Re: What is your resting heart rate?
Mine's quite high at the moment. Last summer it was in the low 60s, at the moment it's 70. I'm quite stressed with the new job plus have had mild Corona-like symptoms for the last couple of weeks.
I'm 45, not fit, probably a stone heavier than I should be.

Mine used to be 120bpm.

64 at the moment.
Re: What is your resting heart rate?
Tad over 70 today but like Rev, I've a lot on - I'll bet at 21:00 tonight, it will be lower.
A few years back, I had a lot of Blood Pressure issues and needed to get regular checks. I cured the problem by scheduling the appointments Before work , rather than after work - blood pressure dropped significantly that way

50bpm right now (not particularly rested), 38, racing snake.
Re: What is your resting heart rate?
Just looking back to 2016 when I was actually fit and healthy. Depressing
How about not having a sig at all?

59 BPM right now after just getting back from a 5 mile walk.
Re: What is your resting heart rate?
75bpm right now - did a 5k run a couple of hours ago and just spent an hour debating some legal provisions on the phone so maybe will dip a bit lower if I sit on the sofa and read a book for while I guess.
Pretty similar to what it always has been irrespective of my fitness level though. 60 to 80 is considered normal so unremarkable I suppose.

Mines 63. Guy at wife’s work had ultra low heart rate, had it investigated, ended up needing a pacemaker. Get it looked at when you can
Re: What is your resting heart rate?
Low 60s, reasonably fit but around 5 stone overweight.

From a Tour De France documentary, (I'm a medic me), fitness isn't measured by the heart rate at rest, but how fast it returns to rest after activity...integrale_evo wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2020 1:22 pm My mrs is still struggling a bit with getting back to help after corona so bought a finger oximeter thingy.

The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

Low to mid 50’s during the day, low 40’s/high 30’s when sleeping.
I could/have been much fitter and at least 5 kilos lighter.

The last 24hrs has seen mine between 53 and 169. I was out on the MTB last night so that explains the high section.

71 but I'm full of fish, chips gravy, mushy peas and beer
:burp:
I'm not that fit and probably 1st overweight

Re: What is your resting heart rate?
Just had a look at mine over the past couple of months. Low of 62 and high of 66 resting.
Re: What is your resting heart rate?
Harry 40's is fine and even desirable. If I don't drink - a challenge at the mo - I'm in the 40's for resting. With drink it's 60's and even 70's - as you'd expect with poisoning. Nothing to worry about anyway.

Just to add, get exercising! You're a beanpole, right? Running is free and would suit you.

Re: What is your resting heart rate?
I do 12,000 steps a day at work, last thing I want to do when I get home is go for a run
Might be an idea to do something about the 400 a day at weekends though...
Also rarely drink, I.e probably average a pint a month. Don't smoke.
Must admit, I'm not particularly worried about it, just interested to see how common it is, as you're always told 65-75 is 'normal' and the machine thingy beeping at me
