Stratford on Avon district is enormous, mostly countryside and has an infection rate barely above the Tier 1/2 threshold, yet it's in Tier 3 - in contrast, every part of Gloucestershire has a higher infection rate and is in Tier 2.

Impressive failure by the Government to anticipate demand on their website; it's been down 90 mins already.
What is it in your exact area Simon? Check here

Me and my parents borough is just 107.6 / 100,000 and we're in Tier 2. Seems like they've done it on a county level rather than a borough level in all cases. Silly IMO.

Our borough is 100 cases per 100k. Still not Cornwall levels I guess, but number of cases dropped 25% in the last week.

I'm guessing they will also want to avoid opening up rural areas that are adjacent to urban areas, as people will just flock in numbers to the other area to drink etc. Although that probably means that we'll not see most places lifted to tier one until several layers of boroughs around the lowest one have a sufficiently low rate.

In short, we'll all be in tier two until this is more or less over.

I see transitions from tier 3 to 2 as the only ones we can expect to see any time soon realistically.

Jeez, very close to Cornwall numbers. Backs up my theory that only the most remote of regions will see tier one for the foreseeable.

It's a bit of a con really, they saw how badly the likes of Manchester reacted to being put in tier 3 before, so they've used the lockdown period to simply change the thresholds and raise everyone else's levels to match. Sneaky.

MHRA are rigorous.

In the past the UK would have been seen as the EU lead Health Authority and others would have followed suit. Not now.

Get in line mofo. NHS workers and 80-odd year olds first. It's crucial that we start tracking the movements of the oldest OAPs first - they're bound to be up to no good.

As an over-50, I'll get it sooner than a lot of people. Chip me up, Mr Gates!
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

This is one of those few situations where I'm ok if the MPs want to skip in front of me in the line...
