I've no idea how busy the "official" NC500 is at this time of year, but like others have mentioned you could pretty much make up your own route - there's amazing driving roads criss-crossing all over the north (anything up from Inverness). There's also other great roads further down, but those up in the Highlands are pretty special.

I still snigger thinking about ScottF arriving in his Kermit 997 GT3RS with (a pretty good match to be fair) green electrical tape around all of the arch and sill areas to avoid the stone chips his 996 GT3 suffered the previous year. 😀

That wouldn't have helped him later in the trip when he almost rolled it in to a field.
