737 come off runway in turkey- looks like conditions are to blame but doesn’t do Boeing any favours having a crashed 737 in the news again

Sheer numbers, innit. There’s over 6000 737NGs, probably doing 6 take-offs and landings per day each on average. And only 10 fatal accidents in 23 years. You’re more likely to fall downstairs at home and break your neck.

I’ve got 5 cats who like to lie on the stairs, plus a wife that thinks that a stairs are basically a set of shelves for all the crap she takes out of her handbag. The fact I’ve never been found with my head smashed against the radiator and my neck broken at the bottom of the stairs is nothing short of a miracle.
