Sir Ranulph Fiennes, an evening with

Post by V8Granite »

I’ve read his books, love his audiobook on Scott and think he is a living legend. He was at the Cambridge Corn Exchange last night.

A very interesting man. I never realised he wasn’t paid for any of his expeditions, he blagged his way through a lot of stuff and completely forgot he lived on the ice in a cardboard hut for 8 months, twice when doing his arctic challenge.

He was exactly as you would hope he would be, very honest, very blunt, hugely entertaining.

Highly recommended.

Dave!

I love these sorts of nights Dave...

I've been to hear Chris Bonington, Alan Hinkes, Ray Mears and Joe Simpson speak over the years.
