It seems the problem has been known about for a while, this report by McKinsey was released back in 2019:

Re: Your fleet running reports
I've not been stopped in ages, probably 15 years (touch wood), but back in the 90's when I was tearing around the countryside on bikes it was a pretty common event. I always found the police to be pretty fair, even after they almost crashed their car

Re: Your fleet running reports
I picked up a set of 15in wheels for the iQ at the weekend - the original 16's use a bit of an odd tyre size and I could only find either shit or expensive tyres for them. Three of the four tyres were the original factory fitted Bridgestones so were 10+ years old and had started to crack, so althoug...

Re: The thrill of self-driving
They do seem to be a special breed don't they? The 'Rich Rebuilds' YouTube channel had some videos taken down after Tesla fanboys reported them because they got triggered. He has rebuilt several crashed/flooded Teslas (amongst other things) but doesn't seem to have had the brain chip installeed that...

Re: Your fleet running reports
The Civic has been getting some love recently, I broke the OEM rev counter whilst trying to fix it (it was reading about half the revs it should do) so replaced it with a Stack one, and also added a cheap-ish Prosport all-in-one gauge showing oil temp, water temp and oil pressure. It was tempting to...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Now, I've not needed to claim yet, which is obviously the acid test, but Reis have been lovely so far. On the competition cover for the Compact they just asked for a list of the mods and said "yeah'. I got the feeling they were disappointed it wasn't *more* modified. Cover for the other cars i...

Some discussion on the legalities around cameras in/on vehicles, it mostly applies to bikes but relevant to cars too.

Didn’t a Porsche 911 do something similar in the same place a few years ago? The aftermath of the 911 incident: https://i.imgur.com/C3499jQ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/r...

Re: Your fleet running reports
I took the Civic out for a drive again last weekend but for some reason the exhaust seemed a lot louder, so loud in fact I had to go home again, it was bloody embarrassing. I was convinced something had fallen off or broken. It was too low to see properly so I got it in the garage (a massive faff as...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Going back some time I persuaded my mum she needed an EK9 1.6 VTI and she got one. When it eventually got sold some Irish chaps took it to convert into a rally car. Stating the obvious, but it was a brilliant engine. Excellent 8-) I was stuck with a succession of diesel Astras as a kid :( Vti's are...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Looks sweet, that. Is it one of those where the engine revs to 8k or something? Thanks, you can't see the rust or 4 months of road parked filth on it in the pics  According to Wikipedia the B16A2 (wot this has) makes 160bhp @ 7600rpm, but revs out to 8200, the real madman is the B16B which was...
