Re: New car
I had an Manual A5 FWD a few years back and it was all but undrivable in slippery conditions - best of luck Did you have a 2.7, or was that someone else? When the tc and esp kicked in did it flash up "should have bought a quattro" on the dash? I had the 3.0 (it’s still outside  ). I ...

37hrs of labour swiftly avoided... FOR YOU [/b]. Yep. The new owner has been made aware of the (minor) oil sump leak. I assumed you'd just px it while acting the ncg (maybe that's what you meant "slight leak, cheap part, easy fix for someone"). It developed a brake fault last week which m...
Re: New car
I didn’t have a close look at anything else but they were happy to sort a barely noticeable scuff on the rear of mine before collection.
They’re worth a look if you see something you like. Just be prepared for the sad faces when you refuse their finance/GAP/warranties etc.

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement
I use electric scooters regularly. I think they’re limited to 12.5mph. 20mph would be nice, 60mph… big bowl of fuck that!

Re: Car Plans 2024
First day at an old employer the Golf was in for a service or something. I ended up taking the Lotus. Started an interesting conversation with my new manager who was also a bit of a car nerd. "What you driving?" err that... "Oh..Nice" it then appeared on one of the Lotus FB grou...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Anyone know of any reliable sites to get an Audi spec using the VIN? I’ve tried the MyAudi app but it won’t let me create an account. Tried a few other sites with no luck. Car Vertical doesn’t seem to provide that info either.

Re: Your fleet running reports
This is a breakdown of the work required (by a different mechanic mate of a mate, so the price is different due to his lower hourly rate)
I’m still not willing to sink £1.8k into it!

A5 has a leaking sump. A 37hr job apparently according to the specialist. £4.8k…

Re: Randomness
There’s a thread on Seloc where a guy has applied to renew his HGV licence and filled out the alcohol intake question to say he has 12 pints a week. They’ve refused his application based on that but the DVLA has also taken his car and motorbike licences off him too! Doesn’t sound right. Can they do ...

Re: 2023 review / 2024 plans
Work: No change here in 2023. It pays ok, I’m treated well and I like the people I work with. Still toying with going back contracting but I’ve become a bit lazy this last 12 months, if I’m honest. There’ll be a few negative changes this year at my current place, hopefully that’ll give me the requir...

Re: Car Plans 2024
MOT on Monday then I’ll make a decision as to whether the A5 goes. It’s been a great car for seven years and trouble free but it’s on 130k now and a few things are beginning to fail. I’ve considered: F Pace: reliability puts me off Tesla Model 3: Can’t charge at home so daft idea. R8: daft idea. I’l...

Saw another yesterday, they really do look very correct. If I had the space/cash I’d have V6 manuel immediately.
