Re: Appreciation for ostensibly humdrum utilitarian shizzle
My dad gave me his wooden ladders when he moved down south and had to clear out. A few months later I needed to tidy some flashing on the porch roof so dug out the smaller section. Leaned it against the porch. Wondered why it was leaning by about 10degrees. One of the legs was rotten and had lost a ...

Boring as fuck. There's far more interesting stuff to listen to from that era.

That was Richard Kitchen's until he cleared some of his projects out (upndown channel - https://www.youtube.com/c/UPnDOWN). I think he regrets selling it now though

Yeah, PS4S isn't even an option anyway tbh, as they're not available in the sizes I'd want. Possibly a bit much as well for a family wagon

Done. Thanks for the reminder. Also got a reminder to order a case, as the phone managed to slide off a perfectly level desk. It is one slippery mofo. 👍 Lots on eBay already for 200 quid and up. Was there another way to get them free/cheap? Were they shipped with the phones if you ordered v...

Re: Your final internal combustion engined car
Only things that interest me at the moment are the Alpine A110 and the Lexus LC500. It's unlikely to happen any time soon though with the Alpine, and hte Lexus is probably too much of a stretch. The Alpine sounds like it has it's issues as well from some recent reading - I'm not overly keen to retur...

What Tyres?
So the 330 needs some new rears. I'm not that well up on what's what these days with tyres, so am after some recommendations. I've not been that impressed with the GY Eagle F1 Asym 3 that have been on it for the last 3 years - much preferred the Vredesteins I had on before that, but finding the Vort...

Re: Your fleet running reports
This reminded me to check my tyres, not least as the MOT is due at the end of the month. Sure enough, the nsr is on the wear markers and the osr not far off. They're knocking on a bit now anyway - dated late 2018. The fronts are older still at early 2018 but still plenty of life left in those. I mig...

Re: Decent Recent TV
Started on Umbrella Academy S3 last night. Liking it more that S2 so far. On a car nerd front though - 2 Toyota Centuries parked out the front of the hotel that the main characters are based out of. They even take one for a drive. Nice touch. It I always wonder why as surely it's a really niche thin...

Re: No F1 thread?
Whilst I'm sure it's open to manipulation, I don't think it's quite so simple. The rules have prescribed different amounts in different pots from the analysis I've seen. So the rules might give you a £2k hookers budget, and a £150 gas bill budget, then your breach would be on the gas bill and not t...

It may taint all his titles to some, given the advantage RB currently have.DeskJockey wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 4:13 pm Seems a bad outcome for all really. And, as said before, I think it'll taint Max's second title. Would he have been so dominant without the benefits he gained? Wonder if he'll manage a "clean" one.

Re: No F1 thread?
From my position of no actual knowledge I'd speculate that 25% would be a significant disadvantage. I dunno with 10%, but could still be a difference maker I suppose. I suspect they will change the rules now anyway. I just don't like that these things can be negotiated though, it should have said w...

Re: No F1 thread?
Apparently the FIA were looking at a 25% reduction in aero time, but the "negotiations" have seen that trimmed down. The press release effectively suggests that the areas of the breach were grey areas that RB simply had a different interpretation. So they didn't set out to breach the cap. ...

Re: No F1 thread?
Probably worth it given the gains they've made on the field.
Probably not worth the other teams trying to now do the same. The £7m would probably be a risk worth taking, but less so the aero research time loss.

To be fair Zed, that's a fair shout. I don't really know very much about him at all. So I think I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt, let him make a few decisions and his first main budget proposal etc. See how he fares on some of my personal key policy points such as the health service a...

Re: Bye Bye Sunak..
Well he's fucked it immediately - Raab back as justice secretary. He was inept at that and rapidly shown up by the departing Brandon Lewis, who achieved far more in his 7 week tenure than Raab did in the preceding year. We'll be back into pie-in-the-sky idealist ignorance from the randoms who form ...
