I've just put the summer wheels back on the dog wagon, so expect an impending snowpocalypse.

Re: Selling Cars Privately
I kind of appreciate the honesty about a low-ball offer as at least it's probably genuine. And some of those people at least respond to texts and come back to ask if it's sold yet because they are genuinely interested. People making up stories or just not turning up are a PITA. So yeah, in my head, ...

Re: Selling Cars Privately
That’s actually a fair question on this kind of vehicle that might not do a lot of miles. I can see the reason for asking, but at this price and end of the market, it would be way down my list of questions given everything else I've provided and the inevitable bargaining. If he comes along and says...

Yeah, I'm starting to regret my move already. By next week I'll be phoning the first guy back... "pikeys eh? so, that offer of you tea-bagging me and taking the van, is that still on the table?"

Holy thread bump Batman... Put the camper van/motorhome up for sale on Autotrader a few days ago. Immediate interest which was good and I guess makes sense as we're coming into Spring. Punter one... Very interested, sets a time to come the next day. Doesn't appear. I phone him and he says he's inter...

Re: It’s time for another forum cycle/vehicle disagreement
Under the new priority system pedestrians always have right of way. The red man signal for pedestrians merely alerts them to the fact they should be more cautious. Technically under the new system traffic lights for pedestrians and pedestrian crossings are almost irrelevant as a pedestrian stepping...

Re: Greggs closed!
I did some work for a client recently who are committed to being compliant with cyberessentials and it turned out they'd had a massive security breach 6 months previously. "How did you recover from that?" I asked as I tried to get a lay of the land.... "We just turned lots of stuff of...

Actually, that's a good point @Carlos, now he has a works van I could probably remove "commuting" from the policy coverage although I do wonder if that means NO COMMUTING WHATSOEVER or if it just means the odd time would be ok.

Re: The Movie Thread
They're remaking The Crow. My initial reaction is of course, huge skeptiscism, but that nice young lad Bill Skarsgard doesn't tend to suffer shitty screenplays, and it has been 30 years since the first film and things have moved on wildly since the original. And it's not like the original won't sti...

Exactly. On paper, it's obvious that they're at it, but how much work would they put into proving it in that sort of claim I wonder.

I keep waiting for there to be some sort of reaction against all this sort of crap, but it appears there's no end in sight and I just need to accept I'm getting old.

The latest big-name high street food retailer to suffer an outage due to IT issues. Is this the start of a concerted cyberwar to send the masses into revolt, an uprising against our government, making us ready to accept our new Russian leaders? Or has someone been using a default password on their ...

Yes, I've seen similar being posted online. I guess it's one of those things that works just fine until it doesn't. Unless you have a claim though, I guess you could easily get away with having parents as named driver on multiple cars, all using the same NCB discount etc. Companies are never going t...

We're still stuck with Starlink being the only option if we want anything over 23M. We get 150-300 with them and its £80 a month.

The boy's renewal is in... now 2 years NCB and it's gone up £300 to £3000. Time to shop around and see if there's anything to be done to reduce that.
