Re: No F1 thread?

I watched the Sky coverage and just watched the race show and a bit of the aftermath. I thought it was a cracking race, great to see Lando on the podium too. Real shame for Albon though, 2 races in the last few where Lewis has punted him off. Looks like Ferrari are nowhere, although in normal races ...

Re: Taking the knee

Surely not taking a knee suggests you disagree with the statement that Black Lives Matter? I get what is being said about the Poppy mafia but I don't think this is the same argument. I struggle to see why anyone but a racist would disagree with the fundamental statement. I do hear "but racism ...

Re: Taking the knee

Your capitalisation is the point. BLM is not a statement of racial equality but an anti-capitalist anarchist movement which is quite happy to burn society to the ground to achieve its aims. You can disagree with that organisation without being racist or disagree that ' b lack l ives, m atter'. It i...

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

I just need more shed space to fit bikes in.

I did sell my Son's old Merida 620 yesterday for £15 less than I paid for it about three years ago so that was decent.

We also have a Boardman Hybrid but as 3 of us can fit on it, we want to keep it for commuting.
That’s good.

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

I have been out loads although I got stung next to my eye by a bee last week so could barely see for a few days which hampered me. Was still able to go practice bunny hops and wheelies, things I never really managed before. I now can but sadly it did not have the laydees throwing themselves at me. N...

Re: FAO Alex

So if post a thread asking people what garden sprinkler to buy, are you going to compare that one to the 520d thread too? If I ignore advice, then I ignore it. It's advice, not an instruction. If I follow the advice, it's because I want to. It's not to appease anybody. And yes, I started off lookin...

Re: FAO Alex

You seem remarkably calm on Facebook and able to laugh about yourself, why so serious? What is the matter with you? I made a passing observation, maybe take a few breaths? I just find it a bit stupid to accuse me of not listening to advice when that's plainly what I've just done. The 520d reference...

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

Cheers, not that I understand half of what you are saying tbh, casings? I was reading up on new bikes and the article suggested buying a bike based on what sort of riding you did. Endara, XC, downhill and even with the descriptions I am still not sure to be honest. I know it is not downhill. I susp...

Re: FAO Alex

My question would be, given the very VERY substantial overlap between the two cars - large capacity, front vee engined, naturally aspirated, automatic 2+2s of identical price, similar size, age and both universally acknowledged as very attractive cars - I struggle to understand why one would appeal...

Re: FAO Alex

Doesn't appeal, to be honest. But thanks anyway. I like the idea of an Aston, given the cost and their relative robustness (although the DB7s can rust underneath, moreso on the V12s apparently). Yes I have some form of connection with the DB7 but the DB9 given the cost would be very attractive. So ...

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

My Cube is 3 at the front and we got a LaPierre a few weeks ago for my wife and it has single chainset at the front and it is clear why that is now the preferred set up. What holds me back is skill/technique. Keeping enough weight over the front wheel on steep climbs and confidence to let go of the ...

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

Here’s me onto just back on the bike after 7+ years out and I feel like a newb when it comes to MTB tech  Yeah, there seems to be a rivalry between SRAM and Shimano...? My first MTB was an Emmelle with 18 gears back when Shimano did 3 gear sets, Mountain was one of them, my bike had the middl...

Re: Mountain Biking general thread

Well in that case, my mate is blind, I have tyres like that on a hybrid in the shed. If I could remember how I would take a photo and post it up but cannot be arsed. :D
