Re: The Weather Thread.

One of my mates pointed out that we haven't actually had rain in Glasgow for nearly two weeks  . It's running out before it can make it up there; last night we had about three months' worth fall in an hour, the same amount is forecast for tomorrow. Has the south of England taken over the cli...

Re: Your fleet running reports

The rain has also reminded me that I haven't looked at why it'd been popping and farting and just generally grumpy after a wash. It'll probably come up with ''k off' on the dash now  It didn't quite do that, but it didn't start so I took the Yeti instead. Coming back to it from the passenger ...

Liking the updates/build threads from ste and 'Jumper 8-) Excellent spot, speedingfine 8-) Donkey's being wobbly, hopefully it's just aged suspension bushes hammered into dust by the potholes on the A2/M2/M20  The rain has also reminded me that I haven't looked at why it'd been popping and far...

Re: Utterly stupid

I'm reading the comments... 'johnno01, MileEnd, United Kingdom, 16 hours ago Very good article DM, except on thing, you didn't tell us how much his house is worth !' but it's soon back to normal; 'Huggy, Anywhere but London, United Kingdom, 17 hours ago past 50 cameras so at least 50 speeding offenc...

Re: The Weather Thread.

aaand it's stopped. There's now less dense cloud coverage, and it's even brightened up a tad. There's a lot of muck left behind by the rivers flowing down the road (and on the previously flooded patio) but it would have been much worse if the drains hadn't been cleaned and if I hadn't cleared some o...

Re: The Weather Thread.

Still rumbling on here. It sounded like it had stopped raining. It hasn't, it's still raining plenty, but the raindrops or the size of buckets or as driven now...until the other side of the storm comes over. Broccers; it'd still be awkward, but would they cancel and rebook if the weather is too bad?

Re: The Weather Thread.

Correction; it's now raining at least as hard as the other night, though with a bit less boom & flash.

I'd say there's now a greater volume than before judging from the flow down the road. Not great weather for ducks, they'd get washed away...or settle on the flooded patio.

Re: The Weather Thread.

It's having another good go now. Not quite to the same level as t'other night but much more that way than not.
It's coming down that hard that in the middle of the road the rain is running uphill.

Re: Utterly stupid

More stupid than their comments section? Hmm.

Seeing that reminds me though that at this time of year JOG doesn't see astronomical twilight, and LE doesn't see night, so even at a sedate pace you'd complete the trip in daylight 8-)

Re: The Weather Thread.

I've seen a new word in tonight's forecast; thundershowers. The air feels primed, few clouds and a clear moon with Jupiter next to it*. A local weather station is reporting it's 19 degrees feels like 24.

Re: What haven't you done

I've been on one of the static Concordes, so long ago though I can't remember which one or where. It might have been the prototype one with the red markings. I think - probably like most people - that I never thought or considered they'd ever stop flying, that they'd always be there to go on at a la...

The Weather Thread.

Formerly Tonight's Sky. The ongoing storm is awesome. I can't think when or if I've ever seen such widespread lightning, or heard so much rolling thunder. As far as I can see in any direction there's something happening and has been for at least the last half hour, with constant if sometimes distant...

Re: What haven't you done

I'm pissed I never got to fly on a Concorde.
I've been Southampton but I've never been to Scunthorpe*.

*Not true.
