Interesting thing though, putting the Porsche on with Admiral, their default mileage of 10k was actually cheaper than if I put it down to 2k.

Re: Your fleet running reports

that's awesome, though how much does the fleet cost? Last renewal for the main policy with Reis was at the end of July and came to: £401.46 Cayenne £370.90 Flying Spur £321.02 Vantage £236.25 Cooper S £137.92 Compact By total coincidence (honestly) the 360 arrived one day before the Reis renewal da...

Re: Your fleet running reports

With the excitement of maybe having the Porsche nice to drive again I figured I should insure & tax it and properly try it out. It’s been off the road for over two years. I had some trepidation due to all the stories of insurance going through the roof recently, but adding it to the admiral poli...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Bentley time today. And another chance to mention the QuickJack. It’s not long enough to fit the car normally, lengthways, so I’ve put it across. Seems slightly sketchy as it drags the tyres sideways briefly as it lifts :? but I’ve seen a few discussions of X5 owners doing the same so it’s not unhea...

Re: Your fleet running reports

What Bilsteins have you got on the Compact? A2 derv needs new dampers and I'm thinking of B4s. Err... either B6 or B8. Yellow ones. They were on the donor 318ti when I bought it. Oh, you bought the wrong charger the other day; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226053599952 Pfft. That's for paupers. Ferrar...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Yeah, I like Bilsteins. The Porsche OEM shocks are Bilstein and I was perfectly happy with them but at 20 years old & over 110k miles they had started weeping a bit and I thought Gaz would be a nice upgrade. Meh. Live & learn. I’ve got Bilsteins on The Compact and they’ve taken some proper a...

Front shocks done. Looks like they’re Spax springs not H&R but no matter. It’s the B8 shocks I was wanting.

Very true. But then they'll slap a "GT3" badge on it and everyone will instantly forget all those "real 911" objections and wank themselves stupid calling it the best car EVVVAAARRRRRRRRRR.

Re: Cayman/Boxter RIP.

I reckon the Cayenne / Macan are sufficiently well established they could stand on their own. Make the Taycan the halo car, introduce a 2-dr version of it, move to an all-EV lineup, bin the 911 along with the boxster/cayman. I think you're right, my first thought was that Porsche are nothing withou...

Re: Cayman/Boxter RIP.

I wonder if they sacked off their sports cars altogether whether their SUV sales would be impacted much. How much of their SUV desirability comes from the sports car heritage? I reckon the Cayenne / Macan are sufficiently well established they could stand on their own. Make the Taycan the halo car,...

Re: Cayman/Boxter RIP.

And it's always worth a reminder that Porsche isn't (as hasn't been for a long time) a sports car specialist. They mostly make SUVs & large saloons. So unless the EV boxster/cayman replacement is a roaring success that will become even more true in the future. 174,908 55% SUVs 74,649 23% Saloons...

Re: Cayman/Boxter RIP.

[What a surprise - they’re keeping the more profitable one. On a per-unit basis I don’t doubt but what about overall ? They must sell way more cayman/boxster than 911. And then factor in that any new tech for the 911 is only amortised over the 911, not shared. I’m sure they’ve done all these calcs ...
