Re: Ryanair

I was given extra cream and scones on an Emirates flight once. Later that same flight I awoke to find a beautiful Thai lady tucking me in with a blanket.

I should have looked all James Bond but instead just snuggled down and enjoyed being tucked in :D

Re: Christmas 2018

Off to the west coast of Scotland. That's our present to everyone as my inlaws, my parents and sister in law plus partner are coming.

I shall walk the dog, get drunk, play with the kids and eat for a week !!

He seems like a nice enough guy but his vids leave me cold for some reason, not sure why. 44Teeth and BvG remain favourites, particularly 44T right now as it features plenty of James. That sentence will only make sense to some  The current BBB Italia is excellent, it's crude but just the right...

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

A Lithuanian superbike gang were about yesterday evening. Oddly appeared to be middle aged men on super bikes, the odd fluffy tank cover, lights in the wheels trying to look like a Tron re-enactment team. I was hoping for wheelies and stop pies galore but I just got a lot of straight line work and s...

Re: Range Rovers

The L405 is huge, you just can’t comfortably park in my town. Which is a shame as they are utterly gorgeous to be in and drive. The L322 is also great, imo better looking but still has issues. I test drove 2 and both broke down on the test drive. I decided the running costs would be too great if all...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I was dead against the suction pumps for years and to be honest I still use the drain plug on every other oil change. BUT, when I did the ML at first I sucked out as much as I could, I have a manual suction pump, slow but good. I then removed the sump plug and got maybe a quarter of a teacup out. Th...

Re: Lego

I built the X-Wing yesterday and picked up the new off road crane yesterday from Argos. They had it for 160. The crane is the biggest Technic kit they’ve ever done which surprised me. I watched a YouTube review of it and was very impressed. The look of the model doesn’t do it justice imo, much like ...

Re: 992

Considering how big the 991 was, wider and only a little shorter than my e class unless this one is physically smaller the appeal is gone now. I still saw the 997 as a disappointment, noisy inside, engine performance good but nothing special, vastly over-tyred for general driving. No desire at all f...

Re: Your fleet running reports

Finally think I’ve sorted the ongoing wheel bearing issue on the Defender. It goes through left rear bearings on a Salisbury axle every 5000 miles ish. These axles can take hundreds of hp, are bomb proof and will outlast nearly everything else on the car easily. Inner axle seals can go on these but ...

Re: LED light upgrades

The TT had LED number plate lights which did a terrible job of lighting up the number plate. Put normal bulbs in and is much better. I’ve yet to see them on a car where they light up the plate properly or don’t have loads of light scatter in the rain. You can have pink disco LEDs in your interior fo...

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread

Beyond the controls, I don't think there's much crossover between bikes and quads - I certainly didn't feel like I carried anything over when I started riding bikes. Sadly very much as above. We had Yamaha Grizzlys and a Kodiak when I was in Cabinda. After a few weeks riding them sporadically I wou...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I had a Mercedes mobile mechanic come out and after the second time it happened he fought my case and replaced a sensor. For some reason it wasn’t black and white with just replacing the part. That was 40,000 miles ago and no incidents since. If you have a fault though, go to a dealers and leave the...

LMAO at the security guard(s) At my end the 996 is about to start the mini resto, identifying the squeaky front NS, new discs pads, fluid and lines all round, caliper rebuild and painting, small oil leak investigated- appears to be a hose or a jubilee clip, and to sort a wonky exhaust tip. I will a...

I’m still waiting on the spacers. But they will make the turning circle better so it’s pure functionality 8-) Ahh the spacers, now considering mine can navigate a tight multi-storey car park without hitting the lock stops. I truly believe someone on a forum 20 years ago said they are needed and eve...

Re: Getting upset that cars actually cost money to keep on the road

I just spent £840 on links, nuts, bolts, bushes and arms for the 500e. I still need subframe and brake parts, it’s quite exciting knowing in a week I’ll have lots of lovely bits. Then I fitted new brembo discs and pads to the back of the ML today, feels nice with freshly greased and fitted brakes. I...
