Re: Bye Bye Boris!

There's always going to be winners and losers in this sort of thing though. And those on the margins who will be better off poorer in order to qualify etc. Maybe I'm looking at this too simplistically (and lets face it, that's a distinct possibility  ) but at at it's most basic level, Billions...

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

I've never quite understood the British obsession with owning a home, except as a mitigation of a broken rental sector. If you can afford to buy a home and use that to (hopefully) build equity, great, but there needs to be a secure, safe, functioning alternative. Forcing councils to sell their housi...

Re: Fart tax.

Carbon taxes, especially on high environmental impact foods like beef, are inevitable over the coming decade in more countries, especially if an agriculture heavy country like NZ implements something that works. Agreed. Makes sense too. Can someone invent a pair of pants/an insert that converts gas...

This seems like the most sensible option if you've got lots to do...

(I had to google chuckies ... :) )
Me too. And I'm very disappointed.

Re: NHS Bureaucracy

I've worked on both sides, and know people on both sides. The red tape may differ, but any large organisation will develop its own quirks, idiosyncrasies and downright stupid ways of doing things. It is isn't about public or private, it is about size and scale.

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

I understand the mechanism, just not the reasoning. And, irrespective of whether a new leader can fix what was wrong with the predecessor, it still means that a fraction of the electorate decides for all. It is a fundamentally flawed process/structure in my view.

Re: Bye Bye Boris!

It still boggles my mind that if the PM falls in a no confidence vote (or resigns) it doesn't trigger a GE. Surely a vote of no confidence in the leader of the government is a vote of no confidence in them all?

Re: There aren’t enough hours in the day

What are we trying to achieve by adding or removing hours? Abating the existential angst caused by the inevitability of death at the end of a constantly diminishing lifespan that unrelentingly slides away with every second that you look at this forum. Have an awesome bh besties lol! Thank you for t...

Re: Top Tips

I use conditioner and have all my hair. I'm getting more and more grey on the sides though, to add that into the mix. Have you thought about not using the conditioner? That's what's causing the grey. I wear a thin metal folded head protection device* of my own making and that's keeping the greys aw...

Oh and to both of you, get a carpet for the interior space, if you haven’t already. Transform the space We have carpet, fairy lights, bunting, and assorted other necessities. The carpet is the only one of those that I genuinely wouldn't want to be without. And make sure you have a puncture repair k...

Re: Camping trailers and towing them

What Vango tent is it? We've got a Taiga 600xl Airbeam Do you like it? Yes, it was a massive improvement over what we had and made camping less complicated. For me the key feature is how easily and quickly it goes up. It has made a big difference. Downside is how much space it takes up. Yours looks...

I've been toying with the idea of a trailer for camping stuff (and a towbar). Problem is I've nowhere to store it.
