Re: Harry’s Garage

This is where the Golf 8 has gone wrong. All the climate controls etc have moved to the touch screen. It's a backwards step (and touch screens look crap with greasy fingerprints after 10 minutes).

Yes, I think the site is a few hours behind the numbers. So 34.4% mortality then?

Re: Harry’s Garage

Yet Harry hails it as a great thing to use in reality. Have you tried it? Sat in a work colleague's, yes. Haven't actually driven it though, but I'm not sure that's so different. At the end of the day how can, say, adjusting the aircon be easier in that than with tactile buttons that I can place my...

Terrible for this country so far. Closed cases show 8 deaths and 19 recovered. That's a 29.6% mortality rate.

Re: Coronavirus

Rev and Dave have it right. The point about a lockdown is that you stop the spread from one person to the other. If everyone who has it is contained and subsequently recovers then you effectively kill off the disease. Until you start social distancing you can't get a lid on it.

Re: Harry’s Garage

That screen is hateful, nothing upmarket or smart about that at all. Dave! Word. I can't fathom those people who think that a single screen is the right place to put all information and deal with all interactions. It's ridiculous. They put a screen in the Model 3 because it's cheap to do and it's o...

Re: Coronavirus

Our policy has shifted overnight, and reading the comments here it looks like the we're exercising the most caution.

Being a 90% mobile workforce anyway, and we also provide the remote access technology ourselves on our own network, it's easy for people to work from home.

Radio is now all fixed, have had no issues, so that's something. Yay! Would you have expected it to have played up by now normally? Re; Stop/start. When I was only going into the office once a week (46 mile round trip) my stop start wasn't triggering. Then last week I took it on a 150 mile trip up ...

How is everyone's workplace handling this? I'm really pleased with what we've announced so far. It's likely I won't see the office again till April, or maybe later.

Re: Coronavirus

There are some funny differences internationally. E.g. Germany currently has 1622 cases of which 3 are dead and 9 are listed in serious/critical condition (i.e. <1% death or serious illness) vs Italy has 10,149 cases of which 631 dead and 877 seriously/critically unwell (~15%).
