Re: Bright light, bright light!

There used to be some silly things, like lotus not being able to illuminate both rear lights each side as the box draw around the lamps included the bodywork inbetween which made them not bright enough for the total area. Ah !! That's interesting, the 360 may have fallen foul of the same thing, des...

Re: For the FTAO of JL

In the March auction, "KUR 1D" had a start price of £500.

And sold for over £51k inc. fees.

The top ten highest sellers were at an average of nearly 30x their start prices.

Re: For the FTAO of JL

The start prices on the DVLA auctions bear no resemblance to the end prices. The 11 plates will likely be £5-10k including fees. AVI5 will be a lot, £30k or more probably.

Another kinda want. V10 Phaeton LWB https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266746527264 If you decide to pull the bullet I might have an old pair of V10 turbots that might help getting rebuilt ones organized. I can't remember if the main cause of problems was the actuators playing up and that they weren't avai...

Re: For the FTAO of JL

If he’s had it a while he probably didn’t pay £5k.

FWIW DVLA originally sold it at auction in 2010 for £1k + fees.

Good god, have you ever tried to decide what drill bits to buy without having any personal experience to go on? I swear every single set no matter what the price or brand will have several people saying they’re great, and others saying they’re terrible 😂 Have you ever asked a forum what oil you sho...

Re: Today’s want

Another kinda want. V10 Phaeton. LWB with the split rear seats is very cool but engine out for turbo replacement is a mission and the KESSY (keyless entry & start) problem points to water damage. I know mine’s been replaced already. Not insurmountable but likely a pain to track down. https://www...

Re: Jobbo interior

I don't get it. Why's the bidding already over £5k (+fees) ? The 4.5 litre engine in these is not very reliable, it's a horrible colour, and it's not even low mileage or particularly good condition. Was it owned by an "influencer" ?

I finally fixed the passenger leccy seat in the Bentley. Both sides went a bit weird a while back and although the driver's side worked again after a reset the passenger one did not. Seeing as I do not use the passenger seat while driving  this was not a big deal but we're planning another road...

Re: Hive mind: opinion on this polo

Is a MINI out of the question insurance-wise ? I know I’m a broken record on this but they’re fun to drive and have way more character than a Polo. There’s loads of them about for your £4k budget.

Re: Hive mind: opinion on this polo

I reckon a 17yo will ruin it, crash it, get bored with it and want something different inside 12 months, at which point it won’t be the 1-owner mint example you paid a premium for and you’ll wish you’d bought a “normal” one for half the price.
