Re: Slow texters
I used to be a reliably quick responder, but now I just always seem to be busy and not have time to think about replying, also a case of seeing the message, making a mental note to reply later and forgetting. I try where possible to leave it unread until I know I'm going to have time to reply, but i...

Re: No F1 thread?
At least MV wasn't off into the distance. Will probably win it this year, but looks like there might be some scraps near the front (in quali at least, although possibly the RedBull is a beast on race pace so shouldn't get ahead of myself). It's annoying that I can't now abbreviate RedBull to RB... m...

Re: No F1 thread?
Whether or not there's any legitimacy to the claim, I imagine there's so much inappropriate behaviour goes on by the old guard in F1 that they will have no choice but to circle the wagons! I still stand by this. I was watching FP3 earlier and they said Horner had left the pit wall to see Ben Sulaye...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Yeah, it's AW Driver Training now. I was actually booked on a day when they went under, but I feel for Andy, sounds like there was a lot going on. I think one of the instructors he worked with ripped off his idea and set up their own, and he had cancer. He mentioned it to me on the way back round w...

Re: Your fleet running reports
We should do an ov9 day! Were helmets required ? If not I could possibly be persuaded to bring the Ferrari. Last time I went to North Weald was with Coaster  IMG_3968.jpeg :( Yeah, the only time I went previously was with him too. He was in his 'teg. No, don't need a helmet. I think the format...

Re: Your fleet running reports
Did a Walshy fun day at North Weald yesterday with some folks off SELOC. Can't have much more fun for £100! 12 cars, so you don't get a ton of time on the various circuits or much tuition (although Walshy did jump in with me once, and I have been before so that's ok), but still a load of fun. What a...

Re: Is car insurance racist?
I guess with non-UK nationality drivers there's probably a statistical risk that they are not as well trained. I think for some countries you don't have to take a UK test to convert to a UK licence etc. Not that UK drivers are amazing clearly, but there is a certain standard that averaged out over m...

Re: Is car insurance racist?
If there’s no ethnicity data behind the claims base how can it be racist? Or am I being very naive? Could insurers be loading premiums on certain streets / areas based on data sourced elsewhere which does have ethnicity information? I think they would have to go to some effort to make it racist, so...

Re: Is car insurance racist?
A lot of it is bollocks, I think there should be a far greater right to privacy. Have a British driving licence then leave it at that. What does it matter if you have kids or not, own or rent a house, or what your specific job is. Yes you can pull statistics out your arse all day and find infinite ...

Yeah, love it, listen to it in the car too. Neil Clifford is definitely the best part of it though, legend.
Re: 6 Nations
I didn't catch that in commentary, but you've been able be in the air over the line for as long as I can remember. Usually hitting the flag means you're in touch, did he hit the flag first before grounding or something?
Either way, sounds like they cheated... I demand an immediate rematch.

Re: 6 Nations
Well deserved win for Scotland. The Scotland vs Ireland game probably should have been the grandslam game, unfortunately it's Ireland's championship at a canter.
Re: 6 Nations
expect to be home, hammered and wrong by 8pm  Let's hope so. Watching the first game in the pub with an Irishman, then going home for the second game, mainly because last round my daughter showed and interest in it and has been asking about it since. Inevitably she's not going to be interested...
Re: Which?
Looks like I'm one of two who would take the coin toss. You're looking at the difference between a nice house, vs never working again and your children never having to work either, if invested properly. That's worth a shot for me. Fuck that - my child can work and learn the value of £ Honestl...
Re: Which?
This. £100k or a 50/50 on £1m is a more difficult question.. Agreed. I'm not sure what I'd choose! Probably still the £100k, I'm not much of a gambler. I'll need to start a new thread for you Duncs with options of £100 vs a 50/50 on £1000. ;) :D No, I'd gamble for £100k vs a guaranteed £10k. B...

Re: Which?
Jobbo is correct. I like my life, £1m would really enhance it without fundamentally changing it. Assuming you win the £10m, everything changes, and it could go both ways in terms of happiness IMO.

Looks like another snoozefest at the front, no great surprises there.
