Re: EV Thread
Parkers must be showing old data - BMW’s own site shows the new shape 530e to be 2080kg. The new 520i non-hybrid is 1800kg. I did wonder if Parkers simply wasn't up to date. So the new 5 phev is 300kg heavier than the outgoing model? I assume that's a bigger battery then and more like a proper phev...

Re: Full Fibre
I upgraded to Vodafone FF yesterday. Had been waiting for Community Fibre for several years, but last time I checked their message had gone from "nearly there" (borne out by the stickers on the cabinets around here) to "jog on", so I gave up and just upgraded my Vodafone copper t...

Re: Teh Spotted Thread
That's awful. Looks like it was built by someone with very limited metalworking skills. "Just make it flat and square. It'll be fine".

Re: Decent Recent TV
One Day (Netflix) Set on July 15th over twenty years it follows the story of Emma and Dexter as their lives together and apart unfold on that one day, the rest of the year you have to infer. It is very good and definitely worth a watch. There's what feels like genuine chemistry between the two, and...

As an aside you probably shouldn't wash your rear with screen wash. A bit harsh on the skin.Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 11:43 amYeah I assumed as much!

Re: Your fleet running reports
It works well I think. If you want to take it too far, then do a headliner and inner arch liners in the same material. The latter will need some kind of protective covering obviously.

Re: Today’s want
My friend's brother bought the 306 RG brand new in 90something. It was quite a nice thing and the green/cream looked very nice. Compared to his other car (SII 88" land rover) it was positively decadent, although not as nice as his dad's Alfa 156 V6.

Don't know which description is worse, the "AI" one or the seller's.

Sreten over on M539 has bought a new project. A 187k miles Maserati QP with the Ferrari based twin turbo V8. It is, as you'd expect, quite broken.

Re: Confessions of a younger driver.....
Can think of several that apply. One job had a pug estate as the shared van. - did a video running over a hated laptop (showed it to the customer who nearly wet himself laughing) - tested VMax (private road obviously) - thought it would be fun go through muddy puddles and got it stuck. Refused to ru...

In line with Rich I'm torn between the history and link they provide, and them being the literal poster children for how unearned privilege, nepotism, and back room old boys networks have maintained and entrenched inequality, unaccountability and unfairness in society.

Re: The Movie Thread
Nyad (Netflix I think). The story of Diana Nyad and how she swam from Cuba to Florida. Annette Benning and Jodie Foster are a fantastic duo. Movie aside, what stood out for me is how completely alien and unfathomable to me having that kind of singular, obsessive drive and ability is. It is a good w...
