Re: It's the weekend

Also as someone with an engineering degree, it annoyed me sufficiently not to go into it as a profession.

Not on the stag do - I’m not off to Vegas for a drive-thru wedding to a Priscilla Presley lookalike!

Been off-roading in a quarry in the Forest of Dean today. It’s where Autocar filmed the Merc pickup thing recently.

You’ve got to be partying pretty fucking hard to die from it at 28.

Missed out joining the 27 club, though.

Re: The Watches Thread

I'd prefer those if the cases were more uniform in shape and didn't grow top and bottom. But then it'd look a little like an Omega, which I'm also not keen on :? The cases are symmetrical up/down aren't they? If they look bigger at the bottom I'm sure that's a trick of the light. The part I'm not s...

Re: Lease Deal: LEON CUPRA 5DR 300 DSG £289 p/month (23+1)

Does anyone who takes out a lease ever do under the mileage 'limit'? Yeah, me, by a long way! When I got the lease I was doing a few miles and we were looking at jobs that required big miles. I've been working in London and driving to the station more or less ever since. Anyway, another lease...

Re: Dale Winton

Jonathan King, the paedophile convicted of sexually assaulting 5 teenage boys, was an utter cunt? I find that surprising. RIP Dale. Sadly, reports seem to be alluding to it being suicide. Talk about your problems, guys. Yeah, who'd a thought it about King, eh? Tragic if Dale did commit suicide. I t...

My fiancée used to work in telly and said how lovely he was. Jonathan King, in contrast, was an utter cunt.

It's a silly thing to do - it tends to be the same price difference up front as paying for it later, but if you do fewer miles you don't get a refund.

Re: The Watches Thread

The Autodromo Prototipo was a watch I first saw mentioned in Evo - that's got a rather nice cushion case shape and looks pretty funky. Still like the Longines reissue I posted above more, but here are the details: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/autodromo-prototipo-review https://hodinkee.imgix.ne...

I think you’ve just found the wrong model Rich.

Always amazes me that watch makers use such similar names for quite different watches.

That’s a newer reissue harking back to the original, too. But you get the point.

I read the other day that Watchfinder's offers to buy watches have dropped a fair bit. Suspect they either have too much tied up in stock already or they're struggling in some other more serious way.

Re: Your fleet running reports

I had no idea there were so many accessories for CTEKs. While I like the idea of those indicator lights, any idea what the power drain is? My MX5 started first time after sitting for 2-3 months unused, and over that period it's possible the tiny drain from the lights might have meant I'd have had to...
