A manual 575 Superamerica is in my Lotto Garage Another great article by the way SSO - as always, thanks for sharing your experiences. By the way, how does your good lady wife like the current "Karen" Internet Meme's ? :) Thanks. On the meme's, don't think she has seen any of them. Shes g...

Re: Man Math & Ferrari V12s

I’ve always loved the 550, it’s from one of their best eras imo. A mate’s brother had one, it was ruinous. It often wouldn’t start and when it did it sometimes wouldn’t stop 😂 A manual 575 Superamerica is in my Lotto Garage Another great article by the way SSO - as always, thanks for sharing your e...

Re: Man Math & Ferrari V12s

So the quick answer to the question "what's better than a V12 in front of you" is "Anything with the engine behind you" :D Starts browsing Ebay for MR2s ;) Speculatively, the whole raison d'etre of the mega engined GT is effortless speed without the more lethal handling characte...

Orange Cola wrote: Mon May 11, 2020 9:55 am You can ruin my dreams of a 550, we’re they reliable and did they have high maintenance schedules?

Always wanted one.
Reliability was never an issue on any of the 4. The Daytona had a few issues but they were known and more part of its mini restoration.

I think it’s the best looking 720 I’ve seen. The looks have been growing on me admittedly.
Certainly a nicely specced car.

They certainly did and I would expect more of the same to follow.

RobYob wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2020 7:03 pm Needs a couple of epic drive anecdotes IMHO.

Considering both are obnoxiously fast on the road, would they be a bit slower but more involving with a manual?
Need Covid-19 to go away so I can do a few epic drives....

On the manual, I would love to see McLaren come out with one.

Re: Collectability of McLarens

I think the Ultimate series cars will be collectable but the main issue with the others is they all look the same. A guy in town has one and I have no idea what model it is. I'll grant you the current Ferrari range is a lot larger than in times past but they are all still pretty distinctive. Not su...

Re: Collectability of McLarens

Late to the discussion, I wonder if the same "efficiency/coldness" that hamstrung the 12C as a model is going to be the overall Company theme of this era of McLaren. Certainly having the Ricardo made V8TT in very similar specifications at the heart everything from the 570 to the 720 was s...

Re: Collectability of McLarens

Great read as always SSO and an interesting subject. I kind of agree with @Zonda_ - other than the P1 or Senna, I couldn't pick a specific model out of a lineup. Which isn't to say I don't admire what McLaren have done in a relatively short space of time; I know the great reviews they consistently ...

Re: Collectability of McLarens

With Mclaren it feels like you have a choice of cars with the same basic drivetrain and chassis with just different price points to appeal to different incomes. They're actually quite a bit of differences between the 570 & 720 series cars in terms of chassis, suspension, aero, and drivetrain. M...
