Re: Cholestorol and heart disease.

1. Statins reduce mortality on a population level by reducing individual risk. Will a statin stop you personally dying of a heart attack or stroke, I can't say, but will it stop a chunk of the population taking them dying, absolutely. 2. In the UK, unless your cholesterol is very high, we use Qrisk...

Re: Cholestorol and heart disease.

I have a lot of salt but no sugar when home, I struggle to keep away from it when away as choices are either salads which I hate or meat cooked in oil and covered in stuff.

Re: Cholestorol and heart disease.

My wife’s was 8.2, she is fitter and healthier than ever before and the cardiologist isn’t worried about her level due to her diet. I think when consuming a lot of fat you get high readings but I’d need to double check that was what he said. Inflammation seems to be the big heart disease problem fro...

Re: Your fleet running reports

I use a HSS centre point but when I need to start a hole in something important. It only let me down when trying to drill out the studs in the TT Cats as they were the hardest thing I’ve ever had to drill. We even set it up on a mill and it was chirruping like crazy as the bit was just skipping over...

It’s this general slapdashery in basic everyday tasks which will be the downfall of society.

The TT clock is an absolute twat, you think you’ve set the time and are one button press away from going back to the year 2000 !

It all depends on the transgression and the Koshers current situation. For example if the Kosher is currently involved in riot work, the Kosher would be brutally koshed to prevent further silly acts. If the Kosher is in a small rural town and sees someone not hold the door for an old lady, they get ...

Cholestorol and heart disease.

So as all the males on my Dads side of the family have had heart disease of some kind, all had heart attacks at 57 years old and of the 2 left, one had a triple bypass I think and my Dad has stents after multiple heart attacks. This has gone down the rabbit hole and it may, or may not, promote discu...

Policing - Snitches get stitches, Police get freedom to use a Kosh twice a day with no comeback. Is the twice a day koshing a minimum or a maximum? They don’t use it, they lose it. It will stop them hovering close to the police station near the end of their shift if they’ve not given someone a bloo...

Where these recreations win the most is the size, the modern 991 is a huge thing compared to before and had lost a lot of its curves.

The overrun sound on that video could have been from a group C racecar it sounded so good!

Re: BYD are taking over EVs

After working in China on a few occasions I certainly wouldn’t want a product owned, developed and run solely by a Chinese company. Not saying other items aren’t using nefarious ways of recording me but I didn’t enjoy being permanently monitored like I was there. It just feels quite off putting. Dave!

I have 2x20 litre ones I use in the Defender but don’t think I’ve touched them in 10 years. For needing small amounts of fuel, a Jerry Can style 10 litre one is perfect. A decent amount of fuel, easy to pour and still nice and sturdy. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XwUkbGHFAhs&pp=ygURSmVycnkgQ2Fu...

Being faster is the reward, surely? Far from it, something engaging and fun is far more important than being ever so slightly quicker with zero skill needed. Dave! I’ve been on anchor handlers which go from blackout to back up and running within a minute or so to crews who simply didn’t know how to do it and dropped anchor instead of hitting the fjord.

It will be interesting to hear how long it was a black ship for, so no power at all.

Thrusters and things can still be available if a crew knows what it’s doing and the main engine is gone.
