Re: Aston Martin's 2023 Results: Turtle Flambé
I've read that twice now and I'm still not sure how they can try to paint those results as being positive. What's at the root of Aston Martin's issues which seem to be perennial? Is it the fact they ultimately have a smaller appeal and audience for their products than other similarly priced alternat...

Re: The House Projects Thread
We're still waiting for a valuation on the plot of land and final build to come through, but have also been to look at a house that's come up for sale in the same village. It would be half the price of the new build and is much smaller, but comes with a long outbuilding attached to the house which i...

Re: Harry’s Garage
Love the way Porsche sell a foldable spade for £144 and the holder for £77! Spec'd one last night, £188k for that is pretty good value. Then I went on Aston Martin and spec'd a new Vantage.. only problem is it doesn't show prices and so I have to guess what it costs  (https://my.astnmrt...

Re: Interesting custom wheel thread
And just to be “that guy” - what’s the insurance implications if one of these wheels causes an accident ? That's kind of what I was wondering when I raised the question... But yes, absolutely aware of the re-badging and price increases which happen across the board on all sorts of items which are a...

Re: Offroad Supercars (a la Hurucan Sterrato / 992 Dakar)
I'd have a Dakar in a heartbeat. Perfect for the north of Scotland's b roads, forest tracks etc. Stick a roof rack on and there's loads of options for wild camping, mountain biking etc.

Re: Harry’s Garage
I see the optional roof rack is shown pictured with some small jerry cans on it so I guess somewhere along the way they decided that the sort of person who would need a longer range will go for that setup rather than them working out how to get a bigger tank in the current floor plan.

Re: Interesting custom wheel thread
That's a pretty damn good price. Not a fan of the colour, but I don't think any of us are!
How do you get assurance around the quality and tolerances of these things when buying from some random third party?

Re: Harry’s Garage
Latest video is on the Dakar and we get the usual shots of him hooning around the farm. I have to say, the more I see of this car I really want one. But with it being a limited run, looks like they're 250K+ for used ones, so it'll be a hard pass unless we start doing and win the lottery. As much as ...

Re: The Movie Thread
We went to see Dune 2 at the IMAX yesterday and it was pretty mind blowing. The visuals and score were stunning - an absolute assault on the senses. Loved it. Would recommend.

Re: Harry’s Garage
I didn't fully follow the story. So the mother took the kids to a TVR dealer and let them pick whatever TVR they wanted? I didn't really follow that either, I struggled to hear some of the dialogue on the video to be honest. I genuinely don't remember reading anything about the Scamander before, bu...

Re: Decent Recent TV
Ah. I thought it was a new series or something. AS YOU WERE Worth a watch! There's some really nice moments of reflection in it where you see them saying just how grateful they are for doing that job and how much they enjoy it when they get together. Stunning scenery and will definitely make you wa...

This flat is nearly identical to mine https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/143338718#/?channel=RES_BUY Who needs an acre of garden when you have a balcony big enough to fit a table and 4 chairs? There's some crazy stuff going on, its an interesting and infuriating rabbit hole to go down. It's loo...
Re: Running
Did my first Parkrun yesterday. Quite enjoyed it although there were lots of Strava types who appear to take it way too seriously. A lad at football is doing 5k a day for two months so I said I’d join him yesterday. He also recruited the local MP to run it with us (whose primary motive was photos f...

Re: Your fleet running reports
11° today. So glad I invested in those winter tyres :D Yes, I put the all-seasons on my wife's car in January and I reckon they've only seen one frost. However, the Pirelli P-Zero summer tyres are pretty awful even above freezing so it was probably still worthwhile. I think if I still had the M2 th...
