Re: Greggs closed!
I did some work for a client recently who are committed to being compliant with cyberessentials and it turned out they'd had a massive security breach 6 months previously. "How did you recover from that?" I asked as I tried to get a lay of the land.... "We just turned lots of stuff of...

Re: First Cars - Insurance
Actually, that's a good point @Carlos, now he has a works van I could probably remove "commuting" from the policy coverage although I do wonder if that means NO COMMUTING WHATSOEVER or if it just means the odd time would be ok.

Re: The Movie Thread
They're remaking The Crow. My initial reaction is of course, huge skeptiscism, but that nice young lad Bill Skarsgard doesn't tend to suffer shitty screenplays, and it has been 30 years since the first film and things have moved on wildly since the original. And it's not like the original won't sti...

Exactly. On paper, it's obvious that they're at it, but how much work would they put into proving it in that sort of claim I wonder.

Re: I used to be with "it"
I keep waiting for there to be some sort of reaction against all this sort of crap, but it appears there's no end in sight and I just need to accept I'm getting old.

The latest big-name high street food retailer to suffer an outage due to IT issues. Is this the start of a concerted cyberwar to send the masses into revolt, an uprising against our government, making us ready to accept our new Russian leaders? Or has someone been using a default password on their ...

Re: First Cars - Insurance
Yes, I've seen similar being posted online. I guess it's one of those things that works just fine until it doesn't. Unless you have a claim though, I guess you could easily get away with having parents as named driver on multiple cars, all using the same NCB discount etc. Companies are never going t...

We're still stuck with Starlink being the only option if we want anything over 23M. We get 150-300 with them and its £80 a month.

The boy's renewal is in... now 2 years NCB and it's gone up £300 to £3000. Time to shop around and see if there's anything to be done to reduce that.

Re: The (mainly city-focussed) anti-car movement
I don't even understand what the original tweeter's beef is about the Cycling UK tweet. It's just a competition to win a fancy bike of your choosing because that's what people will like. And the bit about the Range Rover is just further evidence of him being an utter bellend.

Currently looking for my younger boy. He is 17 and getting to the stage where he wants a car to practice in. Cheapest so far is a classic mini but he hates them and budget fro something decent is way outside of his price range anyway. Quote for him passing at the moment would be about £2000 Tried a...

I've had clients say their demolition has been delayed for a year due to missing the bat survey window - it sticks in the mind  Have found other advice that says Phase 2 surveys must be between May-September and there must be...
